Monroe Golf & Country Club

Played Thursday afternoon and Saturday morning. The only real issue is the staff and their lack of caring. Both tee times include range balls. Thursday afternoon we show up and they say there are no range balls now because they had a group class this morning. So? Don't you have a machine to go pick them up? What does the class have to do with my tee time? Whatever, we blow it off and head out to the course.

Saturday morning we show up and now they "aren't giving out range balls because they have a tournament later". Again, what does this have to do with me and the promised range balls included in the tee time? It would be TOTALLY different if it listed the range as closed or the range balls for an extra fee.

I tell the young guy behind the counter that isn't acceptable and he needs to get whomever is in charge on the phone. He radios out and begrudgingly gets permission to get range balls for us but says NOTHING to me at all, just walks off to get them. Well, 25 minutes later and 5 minutes before our tee time they show up. Gee, thanks. We hit some balls to warm up and teed off late with as much consideration for our official tee time as the staff had for us (zero). Not a single staff person spoke to us one way or the other the rest of the day.

Course was fine. Not good, not bad. Staff made this a place to avoid. There were lots of potential ways to handle the situation and they picked just about the worst. If you aren't going to provide it, don't advertise it. If you do advertise it, don't get mad when people expect it. I put up with the sad excuse the first day, but the second time in a row? Pitiful excuse for a club.

Course in great shape other than a few beat up tee-boxes. Greens were smooth and putted well. This is one of my favorites in metro Atlanta. Well-worth the drive from anywhere on the east side. Nice variety of holes. Some reachable par 5s if you put it in the fairway. Not long overall, but always a good, fair challenge. If you scrounge up a par on the difficult uphill 5th or the 11th holes, you will have earned it!

I found the course, greens and staff to be awesome. The greens are fast, but true. The elevated greens are a real challenge and club selection is critical. A couple of the par 4's play like 5's. But, the course is a real treat to play.

Everything is very well maintained. A very good value. Pace of play is a little slower on the weekends but nothing horrible.

No starter course was backed up horrible. That was several fivesomes playing golf. It was absolutely horrible never been to a course so backed up at all.

It appears as though it is the norm for this course to allow members to play as fivesomes.. Noticed several groups of five on the course in front of us. Lengthy wait on all 18 holes.. Asked one of the cart guys if they normally allow this and his response was yes. Took well over 5 hours to play a short course that should have taken 4 at most.

Had a great day playing golf with my grandsons and son-inlaw. Course was in good shape and pace of play was very relaxed and a good value for your money. The staff is very friendly and the course is always a pleasure to play.

Nice course layout. Not difficult but fun to play. Being December everything was brown but I could tell it would be very green and full in summer. Very friendly staff that is accommodating to your needs. Ver good value for the money.

It is really beautiful golf course. I enjoyed the play with my friends.

Played on 11/4/17, good pace and the course was in good condition

I've played this course many times over the past 5 years. Great bent grass greens. Great staff. White tees play 6000 yards but seems like 6300. Maybe that is because I'm 68 years old !?!? Great layout course in great shape now.
