Travel stop

Could be a nice course but needs some work. Greens we're pretty good for off season. Layout is nice. They had a lot of rain a few days earlier. Tees we're not on most of the boxes. Cart paths are atrocious. The best thing was being to get out early. . Not a bad deal for what you pay.

Golfing at 77

Bunkers around some of the greens are a little tuff for a senior like myself but overall vary playable.

Great Course

Great course. Worth the money and definitely great for visitors. Clubhouse host was nice and professional. I wish it hadn’t rained the other day but the course was still solid.

Overall 5 stars.

First round in Savannah area

We were very happy to be outside playing again. Did not realize they were getting ready to host a tournament in a few weeks so they didn’t wast the tee boxes torn up so they put them off to the side. Conditions were wet, a lot of leaves and debris as well as ripples of dead grass everywhere after what must have been heavy rain. Did not see one groundsperson. Cart paths in rough shape

Southbridge in Savannah

Not busy today. Kind of cool and wet. It was cart path only - and the cart paths were not in good shape. Bumpy and broken up. And the yardage makers were hard to find - they were in the ground and hard to see from the cart path. Course was really wet. Must of had some rain previously.

post heavy rain

Course was extremely wet,due to heavy rain this week. My biggest complaint is all the greens have some kind of random weed growing, which misdirects putts.

Making Progress

Southbridge still has a long way to go, although the course is making some progress. The layout is good, and the staff is courteous. However, course conditions are still rough. The course still has far too many trees in play, although efforts are being made to trim them to allow more sunlight for the grass. The course does not drain well -- any rain at all will soak the fairways and leave difficult conditions. The greens are a bit patchy, and in some cases, old hole locations are marked by plastic disks instead of plugs. Conditions may be a bit better once the weather gets warmer and the Bermuda comes back. One desperate need is for a starter to pair groups together to avoid situations where singles or twosomes are following slower groups.

they are trying but haven't gotten there yet

we've played here many, many times and recently the course was taken over by the members and they are trying to get it into shape but it seems there are some serious problems they don't address that takes away from the enjoyment of playing here. they really need to figure out their watering habits and drainage. the greens were okay, sandtraps okay, fairways need over-seeding and one, consistent grass type. cement cart paths are a mess pretty much everywhere and they are constantly working on them. after our round the overall consensus was we won't be back for a long time.
