Stone Mountain Golf Club boasts 36 holes of championship golf that are a part of Stone Mountain Park, which is one of the Southeast's most popular attractions. The Lakemont Course winds around the beautiful Stone Mountain Lake through forests of Georgia pines and hardwoods. John LaFoy, a native of the state, designed the golf course. He incorporated his signature mounding and dramatic bunkering, which is enhanced even further by the wildly undulating terrain. The lake is more prominent on the front nine where water comes into play on six holes. The back nine still features water on four holes, but there are more rocky outcroppings, providing different but equally stunning scenery. Stunning mountain views can be enjoyed from every hole and golfers will also be able to glimpse the famous Confederate memorial carving featuring Robert E. Lee, Jefferson Davis, and Stonewall Jackson.

Challenging for first timer

Played from blue trees, about 6500 yards. Greens were ok except where geese pooped on waterside holes. There blind holes for this first timer. Pace of play was slow at first but picked up after a few holes. It was a beautiful day and I enjoyed the scenery of lake and Stone Mountain.

Great course - Gotten too pricey

Our golf group has played the two Stone Mtn courses for over 20 years but have backed off playing there regularly for the past three years because the price for a tee time on Saturdays is much too high. We used to get an annual package where the price on Saturdays was about $42 or lower in the winter months. Now it's $70 to $80+.

We now play area courses such as Heritage, Southland or Mystery Valley for nearly half the price, and have noticed that a lot of former Stn Mtn players are playing those courses now. It's too bad. We miss Stone Mtn but won't pay their high prices anymore.

Great Day! Great Course!

It was a great day on a great course. We golfed the Lakemont course and the conditions were really good other than the greens having been recently punched and sanded. I would recommend golfing this course anytime.

Lakemont Stone Mountain

Playing at this course is okay but its absolutely horrible that they don't validate parking. Thats the biggest reason most of my golf buddies won't play there.

Overall good experience.

The greens were rough. Lakemont in particular. Actually played 9 each. Stone Mont greens were very good. Overall enjoyed my experience. Staff super friendly.

Greens in bad shape

For the money the greens are just not what you’d expect. Obviously the cool weather hasn’t help the Bermuda greens at all. They are so bumpy, slow, and just not worth the price.

The rest of the course is in pretty good shape and such a great layout with the best views of Stone Mountain

30 dollar quality

Course is in rough shape. 14 of 18 greens are punched. Putting is luck if you hit the plinko the right way. Fairways are long.

Good views of lake and mountain but wait several months before playing.

Not worth 85 dollars plus 20 dollar parking.

Skip this one.

Granted it is early in the season (April 4), and the greens were recently aerated, but it will be weeks or months before the course is reasonably playable. The course is weeks behind other public courses in the area for course condition. And considering they charged $40 on a Thursday, the value was poor. Maybe try this course in the middle of 2019, but for now, spend your money and time somewhere else.

Course needs a lot of work!

Greens were punched a few weeks ago, but there were more issues than that. Most putts came out jumpy with spots larger than a dime. Fairways were ok understanding that the Bermuda is starting to green up. Wait until later to play once the fairways are better and the greens fills in.
