Not In good shape
I’ve played many times before. The course is in ugly shape. The fairway traps have brush like 3ft high growing out of them. They need to spend some money on this place as it’s going into disrepair.

Cool Lay Out, but terrible conditions
The greens were the slowest greens I have ever played in my life, about the length of most approaches. Its too bad, it could be an awesome golf course because of the lay out. Coolest part was you don't see hardly any houses when you're on the golf course. I feel like this course is pretty close to closing its doors.

Slowest Pace Ever. Quit after 9.
I remembered I did not like this course, but , booked around anyway. Only to remember why I did not like this course.
They have really nice carts, with GPS, but the carts are so slow. It as fast as snails when it crosses a bridge, and there are a ton of bridges every where. The play is even slower. I could not stand it... guy behind me left after 7 holes, I left after 9, the group in front of me also left after 9.
I felt myself getting old , and older. Times a wasting.

Overall great experience
With the recent significant rain, bunkers needed some help.
My comment is really about Willaim. The starter. What a genuine gentlemen. Really makes your day.
I enjoyed my day. Accommodations as well are nice. Pro shop, very professional and attentive.

Day after holiday
Played in the morning on a hot deal, forecast was for a little rain. I picked this course bc I knew they had great carts that can keep my clubs dry and then new gps was a bonus. Greens where rolling fine just a little slow. Yes the cart pets are in bad shape but just roll it slow. They have a good range and putting area to warm up.

Cutting the greens.
The course is in decent shape. Just need to find someone who can cut the greens better. Half the greens is scalped and other half is good.

Looks like it was a great place 20 years ago
Neglected course and clubhouse.
Tees are in terrible shape.
Fairway bunkers are a mix of concrete and woods.
Greens are between 6 and 7 in stimpmeter.
Clubhouse is terrible, proshop is sad.
The layout is fantastic and with TLC it could be a magnificent place.

Could be a Great Course, but Neglected
Overall the course itself is a nice little challenging course, but this course has been neglected to a point where its straight embarrassing. The best holes are obviously the ones in the spotlight for pictures and ads to bring people out, which would be holes #1, #11, and #18 coming into the clubhouse. The rest of the course holes that are outside the spotlight, are ill taken care of. If your ball lands in a bunker take it out, as there are some bunkers exposed with Hard-rock underneath which can cause serious club damage or injury, please look at my screenshots. Cart Paths are riddled with mud and dirt for some holes, and there are quite a few tee boxes that are torn apart or are riddled with mold. It really is a shame, as this could be a great course if they just took more care of it. This course is not worth more than 35$-40$ per player.

Course needs maintenance.
I play this course so I can get a round in in 3 hours— check. The course is not in very good condition, though. Tee boxes need work. If you wander out if the rough you will likely not find your ball much less hit out of the hazard. Many of the traps were overgrown with grass and weeds and were filled with water. Most of the greens were in good shape. I know they are doing their best with a limited maintenance budget.

Lot of work to do
I've played Smoke Rise between 5-10 over the last 4+ years and the last two rounds in 2021 there have been brutal. Greens look like they haven't been mowed in months, bunkers are all overgrown, and even some tee boxes are "gone". Very frustrating to see this place decline so much. Don't pay over $30-$40 to play here.

Smoke Rise Golf Course
Very disappointed with the condition of this course. All bunkers were not maintained and filled with weeds. Cart path on most holes were in bad shape and in need of repair. Greens were in ok shape but slow. Overall, course has lost its luster and need an infusion of money for needed improvements.
