Great staff.
The starter, William was excellent in describing the layout of the course. Without him taking the time, our round would have been more difficult. Course is tough and narrow but keep the driver in the bag and it is playable. Will be back due to the staff.

Fun Challenging course, Arrogant Member
Course is challenging with a fun lay out, lots of hills and elevation. Couple greens seem to have an invasive grass with little patches, but will definitely play again!
One big issue was a member who yelled at one of our players for teeing up shots off the mat while practicing. He then demanded/instructed the cart guys to "throw them out" if anyone questions not hitting from the mat. This is completely out of bounds for a member and turned our team off to this property. Because the course was fun and challenging along with the cart guys being beyond friendly and professional will bring us back.

The course has not been maintained
I have played this course a few times now and while it is a fun and challenging layout, the upkeep has gotten embarrassing. Multiple tees were only dirt and others were only weeds. Greens had issues with weeds as well. Probably my last time playing smoke rise for a while. Hopefully they can turn this around.

Love this course! Not in good shape right now.
I love playing at “The Rise.” It’s challenging layout and hallway like fairways make ball placement ever more important. I will always come back to play here but the course is looking a little rough these days and needs some love.

Course is dry and playing fast.

Disappointed looked for better
Have played this course numerous times and this is definitely the worst I’ve seen the conditions of greens and fairways.

This course was one I once was proud to have in my back yard, now I will only play it when I don’t have time to drive to a better course. The 8th green needs to be dug up and rebuilt. It is half mud and the rest something flat and green. Many of the other greens have lots of other things growing in them that cause them not to roll true. It is so frustrating watching the club continue to deteriorate over time. The only absolutely great part of the club are a few of the staff that will go out of their way to make sure you have a clean cart, serve you a great meal when F&B is open and try to make up for the poor way the club has been managed.

Not worth the 38.00 we paid
Tee boxes are awful and just too much woods in play if you don’t hit it STRAIGHT... not worth the 38.00 we paid. Please fix the tee boxes.. nothing but dirt on all of them

poor condition
Used to play Smokerise regularly and it was always in good shape and well maintained...but this was my first round there in about 4 years and wow the regression! Fairways and tee boxes were atrocious...many of the boxes had no or sparse grass at all. Most of the greens were in good shape but a few had weed patches that disturbed putting lines. Although there is definitely work being done, none appeared to be on the tee boxes which was the most disappointing thing. Would not drive very far or pay more than 25-30$ to play there. Wish I would have paid attention to the previous reviews more.

Tough course-
Tee boxes are awful. Tough course if you don’t keep it straight. Lots of hills and woods. Not worth the 38.00 we paid. Glad I played it. Won’t be back anytime soon. Please drop price and fix tee boxes.

Poor condition
Fair ways in bad condition. It could be great course if maintained better.

Very poorly maintained
The course gets a little worse every time I play it and likely won’t be back. Fairway vs. rough is indistinguishable. Lots of dirt and weeds. Very poorly maintained. Bunkers are mostly unplayable.

Fun course- bad if you don't play straight
challenging course, greens are fast- and pray you don't hit a sand trap- due to recent rains the traps were hard and wet.. if your lucky enough to play straight for 18 you'll love it..good challenge, not overwhelming and course markers are welcome site in early golf season.

Horrible conditions
4/16/2020 THe course was in horrible conditions. THey were doing construction on multiple holes. There was debris all over the greens which were also not doing so great so it was hard to find consistancy on any putt. This might have just been timing but there is no way it was worth anything over $30 on a weekday tee time! Plenty of other great courses for a better deal. Probably explains why the pace was so great today! Exiting note: Staff was amazing and extremely helpful!
