Club Pro completely unprofessional
A group of my friends and I played there when no one was on the course. We wanted to play 3v3 and go out in two groups. The staff refused to give us a fourth cart even though we asked him because they only allowed us 3 carts. Point being.... we had to ride 3 people to one cart even though there were 15 other available carts an no other golfers going out that day. The Club "Pro" was ridiculously unprofessional and verbally abused us while we were on the range. He seemed as if he was ready to fight us right there on his own range and got right up in our faces like it was a bar fight. This guy had no professionalism and honestly should be fired from the course. Not to mention he put our safety at risk making 3 of us ride in a cart together which was also a total pain. This is a decent course and has great pricing but this "club pro" with some sort of anger issue has ruined it for all of us and we will no longer play there and we will advise people to stay away from the course.
Customer service
Second time in months that I was turn away because they said too many golfers are on the course. Both time I was a single player.
Challenging narrow course
Pretty fun course with a number of challenges! We encountered natural rocks, sand, water and a random dog roaming the course. The bunkers were mostly dried out and the fairways were pretty hard, but the greens were okay. Club had a driving range but not much aside from that for amenities. Good price if you can get a deal. In a little sketchy area though.
Surprizingly Nice!
It's been years since I last played Southland. The overall course conditions have improved significantly compared to my previous experiences. I look forward to playing it again when the waether warms up a bit!
SLOW PACE
The Asian player pace of play is slow. They need to learn to drop players of at their ball. And then go to their ball. And keep it moving. And they look for balls to long
Almost perfect!!
The condition of the fairways and greens are very very good for this time of the year. The layout and and views are superb. I wish the on course restrooms were cleaner and there is no dining room. Otherwise, I love this course. Well worth a visit.
Southland Golf
Golf was great, course was in great shape other than a lot of leaves on the ground, Only issue I had is that this course is not rated so you are unable to post a score for handicap purposes.
Learn & practice the meaning of Customer Service
I’m just sharing my experience and observation in hoping someone will heed to my experience and make some changes!
Weather Conditions were cloudy & chance of rain. Got to the 10th hole and it started drizzling.. Decided to go in.. Called clubhouse & lady in clubhouse was not sure of the rain check rules but said I guess we can give you rain check. Got to clubhouse and she said she checked with “Bob” the general manager and he said she could not give us a rain check.
First of all, Bob, heighten your awareness that you are competing with other courses in the community that would probably have issued the customer “Golfer” a rain check! Reason I would say this is because a golfing buddy of mine went to Country Club of Gwinnett in afternoon on Friday.. It started getting colder.. Went to clubhouse and expressed the conditions and he was given rain checks to come back on a warmer day!! That’s what is definition of Good customer service. That experience makes you want to go back and play at the course!!
Another observation. The rules that you have implemented is really an inconvenience to your customers “Golfers”
Check In
Cart guy trying tell you were to park golf cart on the return after you have parked and started unloading the cart
Golfer arrived @9:00am for his 9:30 ttime and was told to come back at 9:20
You don’t have enough bag holders to store golf bags when you are not allowing golfers to check in and put their bags on the carts!!
Inconvenience to golfers!!
And the other comment about being of another race and get treated differently.. As you can see it’s just the course lack of emphasis on providing “Good Customer Service”
Shadow of the Mountain
We were pleasantly surprised at the condition of the Course which was in fact much better than Stone Mountain Lakemont Course we played on the 22nd at half the cost!!!!
Slow play, staff has attitude, just not worth it.
Waited for cart, then waited on every t box for 17 holes then run off of 18 because they decide. Forget you guys. Go play Heritage or Smoke Rise or any other course that cares about your patronage.
Probably my last round at Southland.
Have played this course several dozen times over the years. Today we waited on EVERY T box from 1 to 17. Play was so slow and NOBODY was managing or marshalling We get to 18 and we are told to head in and the guy says we were given plenty of time to play. Totally unacceptable, play was slow ALL day and nobody did anything about it.. Very seriously doubt I will play here again. Entire staff from the man answering the phone to the woman who checked us in to the man who ran us off in the evening has an attitude that is not customer aligned.
Sand rakes in disrepair, green lots of not repaired ball marks and senior tee boxes very hard. Roughs need to be blown of leaves better
