Where is the water????
Let's start with the only good, which was the Hot Deal Price ($38) and the greens (very nice). And that's about it.
The tee boxes are in shambles the fairways and all bunkers need work, and the layout is average at best.
Now for the ridiculousness... 88 degrees, and there is no water on the course. Apparently they got "sued" after someone spiked their water jugs with "something." So no water on a links style course when #9 is extremely far from the clubhouse.
Now that I can forgive, since most courses have a cart person riding around with beverages. And they did! Only problem was is all he had was food and beer..... ZERO water. Like, none. Not even soda or Powerade or Gatorade, JUST beer. I love beer as much as the next guy, but why aren't you selling water? This course couldn't give any more craps about it's patrons they just want $$$. I almost passed out to dehydration and had to beg the cart guy for water when he came back around. Absolutely laughable. I'm never coming back.
Maintenance
The course is nice and challenging, just need to touch up some maintenance.
Good course
Its a good course, but its definitely not a 40 weekday or 50 weekend course. No cart girl or food available.
Southland GC regular
Love this course. Greens are in Pristine condition minus the bunkers. Some aren’t playable at all…but other than. Just wish I could grab some beers and food…overall great track for the price!
Great overall experience
This course continues to improve and is great value for the rate. The staff as well is very friendly and accommodating!!
Better and Better
The course is in much better shape. They are doing a lot of work on the course. The greens are in the best shape that I had ever seen. Keep up the good work.
Had a Great Outing.
My man at the club house was friendly and co-operative. Kinda disorganized but once I finally got a cart I had a great time out there. The course is challenging but not challenging enough that you will get frustrated and want to leave. You may lose a couple balls to the woods but you will weave in and out of the woods and up and down hills as you make your way through this course. The cart paths can be a little sketchy and almost a rollercoaster at times but the views of Stone Mountain in the distance make this course worth the price.
Only gripes I had.
1. Some kids from the neighborhood smoking on Hole 12 literally walked across the fairway on 5, sat near the hole on Par 3 12, within an area you had to worry about clocking them. That definitely isn’t the place I would sit down to spark as a Connoisseur myself
2. The fairways can be a little more than grass in some spots, and the bunkers were filled with water in some spots but it didn’t affect my round
3. Some kids came out of nowhere and whipped past me on 16 and I hadn’t seen them all round, all of a sudden I was stuck behind them on 17 and 18 in the pouring rain, and these kids are hitting multiple balls into the water on 18, like 3-4 each, then buddy whips out the Phone for a Snapchat in the pouring rain, at which point I got mad and mentioned that there were now 2 groups held up behind buddy Snapchating his friend hit his 5 tee shot into the lake on 18 and I hadn't seen them all round and all of sudden they were in front of me on 17 and 18 being turkeys, I just wanted to finish my round off and get out of the rain.
Other than that I had a great time. Looking forward to next time
tricked up
The greens are in good shape, but very tiny, probably because it is a short course. Fairways have some bad spots but it should grow in. Its a good walking course, relatively flat. Distance between holes is not too bad. The layout is awful. Fair Sharp doglegs where you can't hit 250 or you go through the fairway. One par 4 i hit 8 iron off the tee, was 215 out; hit 4 iron to get over creek, then chipped onto the green. A long par 4, about 420 had a landing area that was about 30 yards wide. For $20 i would come back if nothing else was available, but overall not a very fun course
Would Play Again
Yesterday was my first time playing this course. There’s some really beautiful waterside holes. The actual course was in great condition except for some flooded sand traps. Greens were nice and smooth. The course winds through a nature wooded area which is cool and scenic. The cart path needs to be redone immediately however. Broken pavement and jagged rocks made the drive a little dicey at times. The first hole has your back to the driving range which makes it slightly difficult looking for your ball amongst a sea of range balls on the fairway, but besides that the other holes are quiet and serene. Would love it, if there was a clubhouse for food or beverage cart. Staff and patrons were all very nice. It was a challenging course but not so difficult you got frustrated. Would 100% play again.
