This course is struggle compared to 1 year ago.
I have played this course occasionally for over a decade and it is slipping into some of the worse conditions I have ever seen it in. There are weeds in the greens. Some greens have these anchored screen patches that are a new one on me. Tee boxes are terrible and fairways have been much better in the past. Only one bunker had sand.
I like the layout and it has one of Atlanta's best closing holes. I hope they get it together.

Good price
$20 tee time, not the best course but still can get a good round of golf in

Deceptively Challenging Greens
I have always enjoyed the challenge and the scenery of Southland Golf Course over the years. The rock outcroppings on some of the holes and the view of Stone Mountain from holes 16, and 18 are spectacular. The greens are generally in good shape anytime of year and present you with some challenging reads of the breaks.

Great deal
If you expect to come here and have perfect greens and tee boxes, spend more money elsewhere. But if you are an occasional golfer who is looking for a reasonable place to get better and hit a variety of shots, Southland is perfect. It’s reasonable, pace of play was good, and the course is actually pretty tough in some spots! Narrow fairways and lots of trees, only pulled driver 3 times.

Crackheads on hole 4
The course is cheap, but I don’t think it’s even worth the $30. The course is located on the side of Stone Mountain, so naturally there is a lot of rock in the fairways. The grass that was in the greens and the fairways looked like it was patched over the rock. There were a few bystanders from the neighborhoods that were on some of the fairways and the greens for some of the holes. I generally find it difficult to putt when people are using illegal substances 10ft away. Don’t go even if they pay for you to play.

Losing greens
The front 9 greens are very bad worse I've seen in about a year or so. Many bunkers are just red clay or worse , gravel.
Surprised to hear that they are raising prices.

Played many times through the years,disappointed of the condition the course was in,tee boxes were bare hardly any sand in the traps fairways bare as well.The clubhouse worker said I got a senior rate which come to a whopping .11 cents.Oh the greens had those noted grass on every green making the ball go left right lucky to make a putt.way over priced at $37.80, not worth more than $20.00 until they can make improvements.

A Great Day for 36 Holes (1 of 2)
I had a Great Day out at Southland
- It started out rough with over booking the early tee-times
But Over All It was An Nice Day - Good Pace, Some Green were rough (3-4) but overall Good Value for the Money

Not a bad little course for your buck
While pretty beat up, the greens were mostly smooth (and fast) as were the fairways. It’s a short course, but it makes up for it with challenging play. Many holes leave little room for error & really put skills to the test. Sand traps are mostly sans sand, which is good and bad. Main downside: there are holes with huge rock asphalt-like obstructions in the middle of the fairway.
