Southland Golf & Country Club

The course was in good shape. It got a little bunched up near the end of the round due to people taking a lot of time looking for their golf balls.

Played this course today for the second time within the past month and both times rhe course was backed up due to a group of 5 playing together. No marshal whatsoever. The final straw for me. Never again.

I've played this course quite a few times. It's kind of a funky layout in the sense that it doesn't double back on the turn. It's spread out with nice vistas and pretty landscapes along the way. The coolest part is the rocky outcroppings from close by Stone Mountain. There are several holes that require layups due to rocks and other watery traps. A couple of nice water play holes.

It's challenging, aesthetically pleasant, and fun, not your typical course, which is why I keep returning.

Nice course if you're looking for a challenge. Many of the holes are blind drives over a hill. Once you commit to 18, there's no turning back. No turn on 10 at the clubhouse.

Except for most of the bunkers the course was in good condition. Greens rolled true and consistent.

He was forced to pay more than the reserved amount.

ok layout. Greens great, all else below average. This place low on funds. Return? Yes if 25 bills.

Pretty slow pace of play. 3 groups waiting to tee off on #1 about 7 minutes before our tee time. No beverage cart which is a bigger deal as the front nine doesn’t end back by the club house. Bunkers are not maintained at all. Probably haven’t even been raked in a few years. Greens are small, but were in pretty good shape. If it wasnt for the bunkers, the course would be in pretty good shape overall.

Today was the first time playing at this course, and honestly, I was blown away! The value for money is as good as it gets. You're not going to find a cheaper course (in my experience) that has the same amount of distance in Atlanta. The last 4-5 holes are beautifully located around a big lake. Stone Mountain is seen off in the distance on these holes also. The greens appeared to be well maintained, and I really don't have any complaints other than the staff could be friendlier. The course is located in the middle of a subdivision, so there are houses (nice ones too) around some of the holes. Might not be a good idea for a beginner golfer who is still working on control to play here. Would highly recommend and will play again!

I like this course. Play it every week. Price is right and pace of play is how I like it.

Public course where everything is poorly maintained except the greens. Although the course is a traditional 72 with some monster holes, the range is only 200 yards, so there is no warming up with a driver or lower clubs. The staff rushes you on the course. I showed up 45 minutes early, planning to get a small bucket in, but the staff wanted to rush me to the first tee. When I walked up for my 1:20 tee time I was informed that we had been paired with another group that was already on the first green. This course is also located in a neighbor, so families with small children walk the cart path (and fairway) with no regard for noise level or your play. Would not recommend.
