Nice Course
Great course can't wait to play this summer.
Long drive but was impressed with this course.
Sand traps well maintain. Staff was as friendly as i thought. But in all a nice experience.
Blind tee shots
Not a bad course so I will not be to critical. The bad - there are multiple holes where you have a rise in the fairway and are unable to determine if there are golfers still in range, they can be completely hidden so you end up having to have someone ride up sometimes 150 yards to check before hitting. the good - the course was in pretty good shape and greens were very reasonable. The hole layouts are fine and pace of play acceptable. I have played here 3 times and will probably play here again so not so bad I guess.
RadiantSimplicity, thank you for sharing your thoughts on our course! We hope to have you back again soon.
Great value
A little drive for us city folk - but worth it. Course was in good shape, ok layout - an old fashion style that winds through a community. A shot makers course, some narrow fairways due to lots of trees. Got there early and got around quickly - we noticed it was backed up by the time we left. No cart girl - range wasn't the best - but had a great time - the positives much out weighed any small items- would definitely go back.
Possibly a great course
Pros: great layout, good practice area (chip/pitch, sand, and putting), sand was fine and not stony. Rough is ROUGH (easy to lose a ball in there; forces good shot-making) right off the fairway. Greens were very firm with sharply cut holes (after a weekend).
Cons: carts are somewhat under powered (and it's hilly), some directional signs would be great as the next tee isn't always obvious. Course was wide open (last I saw the group behind was on the first tee), yet the marshal chided me to keep pace. OB on course not always marked; had to return to tee box on two holes as the markers were inside a treeline and without previously playing, I didn't know.
I look forward to playing here again (and it's an hour drive each way across ATL traffic, so that's saying something). I'll amend rating as the seasons change it, but it has some possibility. As to the name, it's a country club by virtue of being in a gated-community; no attitudes from anyone were experienced.
Have fun!
Easy layout and very good course.
A Country Club, I don't think so!
Upon arrival I was not greeted nor assisted with my bag. After I checked in I went outside to load up my cart and asked a staff member about my playing partner, when I told him the name I was given to join up with he replied, "oh, you not playing with the ____ group, you're one of those Golfnow tee time", as if we were not welcome and they were doing us a favor!
The course itself was hard and dusty. Couldn't even get a tee in the ground at most tee boxes. Not a single green was in decent shape.
We suffered through a 5 hour round with only one group one the course in front of us. There was no staff on the course, marshals, maintenance or cart person!
I will never play this track again, maybe that was the goal in the beginning, if so mission accomplished! I don't reccomend it to anyone who enjoys playing golf.
Country Club...I don't think so!
Greens in really bad shape !
Played there over 20 times and never once was charged for my wife to ride with me . Not only was i charged for her to ride it cost more for her to ride with me than me to play golf ! There wasnt a marshall on the course to enforce the speed of play and got behind a foursome that wouldnt let me play through . It took 5 hrs to play my round and i will never go back to play there again !!
Great course for intermediate golfer.
Few holes were challenging but a nice course to play.
Fairfield Plantation
Fairways are in excellent shape and played great considering the 45+ days of 90+ degree weather with little rain. Greens could use some attention but rolled decent and much slower than expected. Bunkers are excellent with white fluffy sand. Cart paths are being repaved in bad spots which is nice. Staff was friendly, we played on a Sunday with a 9am tee off and had zero pressure from behind and no one in front. Overall id rated it a solid 8 out of 10.
Great course
The fairways and greens were in excellent condition. The terrain made the course somewhat challenging. Fun course to play.
Much improved
I gave this course a not so good review last time I played it. Let's begin with the good, the layout is great! They have started redoing the cart paths that are bad. Still plenty to be replaced but they are doing it. The fairways are looking much better burger off the fairway and you will be hitting out of some rocky stuff. The greens were ok, small and of the Bermuda type. They roll at about a 8 and some are what I consider thin. The bunkers were much improved with clean white sand. Hopefully the improvements continue into the future.
Best condition in 20+ years!
As a resident in the Fairfield community, I have played this course many times. This weekend the course was absolutely in the best shape I have ever experienced. The greens were in especially great shape. Hats off to the grounds crew!!! One of the best values in local golf.
Staff???
Staff were rude because we used golf now. Complained about golf now to each of our foursome as the entered.
Snack bar staff ignored one of our players to get food and drinks.
Watered greens while we were playing. Tee time was at noon.
No one else on course so play was fast except for watering.
$11 for 18 holes is crazy.
The conditions were really great. Greens were soft enough to fly into and stop and the fairways were still firm enough to get some run. A couple of rainy days really make a difference. I had a good round in the low 80's for me a good score. Have played here on other occasions and have always liked playing here. Staff was really friendly.
Decent course, would like to play more.
It was a decent course, well maintained. Electric cart was quiet and nice.
Green condition was different. (very slow)
I'm not sure if its just different type of grass or what.
Overall, I liked the course and the staff.
Although it was Saturday, there was only few players and was able to enjoy the golf.
Short, a shot makers course
Course in very good condition, greens were rolling slow. Overall, fun course to play.
This course has great greens
The greens was in great shape.
Finally got a chance to play it.
My father would play this with a family friend whenever he would come to the area back in the 80's. Extremely good value with Monday rate. Not a great deal of water, but challenging nonetheless. Some holes were wide open while some are really tight. Back nine greens require a little work. Nice course.
This course test your game. Hit left and right off tee.
Nice course, green great, well maintain, would play course again. Price right. Staff great. Enjoyed my round.
ken1956, thanks for the review! Hope to see you again soon.
