Golfer Reviews
nice variety of hole and undulating greens
The course has quite a few straight forward holes but also a few with some sharp turns to make the course seem a little longer then the posted yardage. was a visually appealing course. only non positive comments would be the extremely soggy greens which made it hard to play bump and run shots inside 60 yards. they even watered the green at 1:45 pm when they where still soggy from before. I hit a 3 wood from 265 that plugged 35 feet from the hole on the green. From all the plug marks on the green made it a little bumpy. To end on a positive note the sand traps were pristine and played true.
Good Layout
This is a good little spot. The course was in good shape, the greens were rolling a little slow but happy with the quality of the course. The practice facilities are very nice and the practice green rolls about the same as the course. I was able to play on a hot deal but I'm not sure the full price is worth it. Overall good condition and a nice layout. I will play it again.
Good course
The bent-grass greens were smooth. I had never played bent-grass before so it was a challenge to get used to them. I noticed a lot of ball marks where people just weren't repairing them. Sand traps were not raked and divots were not maintained in the fairways. This is a bad mark of the players that play there and not the management of the course. Overall, I enjoyed the round and would go back.
I like the design of the course
The Course was In good shape had a great time. The Greens were in excellent shape fairways was in good shape also
Awesome course! Not so much staff
Tried to buy an energy drink and the bar tender was extremely stressed out and rude. Then when she has less than the three people she had last time she recommended we buy stuff so we could tip her... Not even joking. Good course though! Fun and challenging to play!
March showers
I played after a week of on and off showers so the fairways were soaked in spots. Overall condition of the course is good. Greens are a little slow but in good condition. Practice range was just muddy.
Worth the drive
Course was pretty good shape for winter. Fairways were kept up and greens were holding up well against the frost. Cart paths were definitely in need of the repair that was already underway. Clubhouse staff and starter were friendly and professional. Overall good experience, will be back.
Nice Saturday course
We teed off at about 11:30am and finished around 3:15pm. For the first 6 holes we were by ourselves then we caught up we the group in front of us and the pace slowed way down. Saw several 2 and 3 hits from the tee box. Overall though it wasn't to bad. We did have to slow way down on our playing however.
Course is challenging with narrow fairways and all the leaves on the sides of the fairway,s make your tee shots count or lose a ball! Not much water in play on this course but there are a lot of sand traps that come into play around the greens.
Excellent Experience
Caught a beautiful day in January (sunny, mid-60's). So ran out and played thirteen or fourteen holes. Hadn't played Fairfield Plantation for a few months and found it in great shape. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. Tees and greens were nice - especially for this time of the year. Fairways were firm but clean. I love the layout anyway and there are four or five holes that can only be described as challenging but terrific. There are no bad ones. I recommend the course enthusiastically.
Great Value
The golf course is in relatively good condition ... definitely some rough patches that could use attention ... especially the tees that have a lot of bare patches and cart paths that appear to be mangled by tree roots in many places. The greens are in good condition and are about an average speed. Decent layout but a bit on the short side even from the tips. Overall this course is a solid value for the price.
worth the drive
The course was in great condition. The weather couldn't have been better.
Fairfield Plantation Keeps on Improving
Been playing this course now for 4~5 years and every year the course seems to get better. Greens and bunkers are in pretty good shape, the fairways need a little TLC (and I had to share the one fairway with a deer) and the tee boxes were in good shape as well.
Short and narrow
Plays short from back tees. Well-kept - bunkers good, greens true - but on slow side. Green complexes were very simple.
Overall, course did not suit my eye. Course winds through housing development with out of bounds stakes on just about every hole, often on both sides.
Played it twice in one day
I found a deal on Golf Now and decided to try it. I ended up playing 36 holes. Very nice place. Thanks for the hospitality.
Nice course in a golf community
Nice course and well kept. I recommend it.
Course is located in a gated community and a great golfing experience.
Enjoyable
Course is in pretty decent shape, mostly green with a few bald patches on some of the fairways. Greens are well kept though they do play slow.
Enjoyed the course, challenging but forgiving on most holes. There was no one else on the course so you could take your time with every shot.
