Bridges of Poplar Creek Country Club
About
Formerly known as Poplar Creek Country Club, the club was transformed into the Bridges of Poplar Creek Country Club in 2011. Besides just the name change, the design itself was dramatically reinvented. Fifteen holes were completely redesigned but the golf course's most memorable holes were left untouched. Bunkers and fairways were reconfigured and fescue was planted to provide more depth and definition. To make the course even more challenging, new lakes were also added. The golf course is definitely a shot maker's layout that rewards accuracy and thoughtful strategizing. The final three holes are considered by many locals to be the toughest finishing trio in all of Illinois. It begins with an uphill par 4, followed by the longest par-3 and par-4 holes respectively. The Bridges of Poplar Creek C.C. offers a round that will challenge even the most avid golfers.

Nice course
First time playing,I was pleasantly surprised.A lot of tricky, shorter par 4's.
Nice public course - good condition & great value
All in all the course is in very good shape. A couple greens are suffering from some early season diseases/problems, but aside from that it's in great shape for a good round of golf. Especially for a public course.
Offers a variety of tee boxes, which makes this course a good challenge for all types of golfers from your weekend hackers to your experienced regulars.
As for greens fees - given the nice facilities (nice practice range area), GPS carts, and good course conditions - they offer a great price for 18 holes of golf.

Good.
Course is maintained well including green speed also.
Bridges of Popular Creek
The course overall is in good condition. The 10th green is very poor but all others are good. The tee boxes could be leveled off somewhat but otherwise I would recommend the course to anyone.
Great Condition and Layout
Fast, healthy, and undulating greens with the exception of number 10 (I believe) which was still very playable but had some condition issues. Only a par 70, but that's not an issue for me. Some of the par 4s were a little short from the Gold tees, but then there is plenty of water in play on a lot of holes which makes up for the length. Dawn makes a mean Manhattan.
Great place
Perfect name for the course - plenty of bridges to cross! Nice track
Black Tees Where a challenge for ME here! Lots of Distance!
I had played one round in the morning already and booked poplar Creek as my afternoon round, and got paired up with 3 great guys and had a lot of fun here. Big Dave 2 and I played the blacks for fun. This course I was surprised, was in great shape. Tee boxes were nice, fairways cut to speck, and rough to 3 inches, and the greens were not all that tuff, but fast rolling. This course has everything you look for in a great course. Water, tons of it, bunkers, on every hole, and a lot of trees. Fairways are wide here, so you can get away with your tee shot fading some or slicing a bit. Course is pretty spread out, Loved that. Very Nice and Fun Layout, and staff was great to point out things to me being first time here. They have class Triple A practice facilities to warm up on to. I would tell you to make a time with y9our buddies, it's worth it to play. Par 71 here and a good par 71 course, not boring at all. I holed out because I ran out of Gas around the 14th hole and began miss hitting my ball on in. But I shot still respectful 40-45=85. This is a very nice a friendly place to play. I really enjoyed playing with the three guys I was paired with. I will be checking out many more new courses in West Chicago this summer. Was a Blast to play Poplar Creek.
Good Play
Fun track that will make you think. Fairways were nice and the greens rolled true. It can play short so I suggest playing from their blacks (most courses blues) It's forgiving, so go for it and score well.
Getting Worse
Used to really enjoy this course, but maybe they are short on funding. There is NO sand in the traps and they are impossible to play properly. The greens were awful with lots of browning and patches where they tried to splice in new grass. The carts are annoying and restrictive - I don't need my golf cart telling me what to do all day long. Lastly, waited on every tee box for multiple groups in front on a Thursday AM. Found nearby Fox Run and Hilldale to be in better playing shape and both are cheaper.
Great conditions
Conditions were excellent for scoring
Greens not fast but true
Shots hit soft and stayed on line
Best game this year 40/42 with a 8 on 10th hole

Overall Good Experience
Sunday was extremely windy. Outside of the weather, I had an overall good experience. Greens had quite a few remnants from the trees, but hard to avoid considering the amount of wind. Couple of areas areas under repair, but nothing that really came into play. Overall friendly staff, timely drink and snack cart, and good pace of play. Carts and GPS were useful. Good amount of water hazards on the front 9, back 9 is fairly open.
Nice Friday Afternoon
This was the first really nice Friday this year. Course was in good shape (some areas under renovation). The round took just under 4 hours which was really good. The course is challenging, but not overly difficult. You need to pick your spots on a few holes. Lots of water, but if you play safe, it is usually easy to avoid.
Terrible pace of play on a Thursday!
From the 5th hole on, there were 3 groups on each teebox waiting to hit. 4.5 hours for a Thursday afternoon, with LOTS of waiting involved!
Needs some work
80% of course is ready, time might help the rest. Redesigning so cart paths, so some construction issues come into play.
STILL NEEDS WORK
I have not played this course since they have renovated the course. The improvements were great and the course is shaping up nicely. It still needs some work - some holes were still being worked on. My biggest complaint was that their cart GPS was awful. I never had one that was that off. Every hole location was wrong - the cart said front but the pin was back etc... and yardages were off. I may try it again in the future but probably not this year.
Good practice course
Nice short public course. Greens are still a little beat up from winter. Good course to practice on.
Greens Need Work
The Greens were in rough shape... a lot of burn spots from the winter. Also the Beverage service was sub-par. We saw the beverage lady twice in the whole 4.5 hours. In the middle of a sunny Saturday afternoon you'd expect that they'd be making the rounds more frequently.
Nice challenge
I've played here a few times the last couple years. It has always been in very good condition. A very well maintained course.
There is a reason they put "bridges" in the name. I carry a 12 handicap. I find it to be a challenge, and fun to play.
Really great course
First two holes start off with a lot of water but really great design. Lots of water overall challenging but a great course. Beautifully maintained and very up to date on technology. Pro shop is extremely well maintained. Staff and maintenance are really friendly. Can't wait to play this course a lot this summer.
