Bridges of Poplar Creek Country Club
About
Formerly known as Poplar Creek Country Club, the club was transformed into the Bridges of Poplar Creek Country Club in 2011. Besides just the name change, the design itself was dramatically reinvented. Fifteen holes were completely redesigned but the golf course's most memorable holes were left untouched. Bunkers and fairways were reconfigured and fescue was planted to provide more depth and definition. To make the course even more challenging, new lakes were also added. The golf course is definitely a shot maker's layout that rewards accuracy and thoughtful strategizing. The final three holes are considered by many locals to be the toughest finishing trio in all of Illinois. It begins with an uphill par 4, followed by the longest par-3 and par-4 holes respectively. The Bridges of Poplar Creek C.C. offers a round that will challenge even the most avid golfers.

Great venue for all. Convenient location, generous fairways, fast greens, and lots of water.
Bridges is a go-to course for anyone looking for a challenge and a chance to score at the same time. Only the recently aerated greens kept this facility from a 'pristine' condition rating. As usual the staff was friendly, and the starter quite accommodating, as he found a way to fit me and another single on our way on time. The Hoffman Estates Park District
made many changes a few years ago that have proved effective and visually appealing. The one thing they should have preserved: front and back nines.
Challenging to start, eases up on the back.
Course was In good shape, not too much rough and large greens helped to avoid the sand traps.
The course had wonderful Par 3's and 4's
The Course was great, I had to stay on the cart path only due to the weather conditions the night before, I will be back to play this course again.
Good Mix of Holes
This is a nice course that is in good shape even though it gets a lot of play. Fairways are in good shape. Not too many bare spots in the rough. Good mix of difficulty.
The good the bad and the ugly
The good , the course looks nice with bridges and decent fairways. The bad, tee boxes are very crowned , uneven, with poor maker placement. This course punishes average and big hitters with hazards in many landing zones. The ugly , the greens are so bad we had putts jumping 2 to 4 inches in the air all day. My partner is a single digit and I am a 12 handicap. Between us we only holed 3 putts longer than 8 feet . There are better courses within 10 minutes drive , save yourself the aggravation .
Great course. Well maintain
The course and the surrounding are well maintain. The staff are really friendly. I enjoy playing here.
Slow play
The rangers did nothing to help speed up play and we talked to them twice. 5 and a half hour round, not fun
Good features, plays SLOW on weekends
Starter was super friendly and knowledgable. we got started 20 mins late and said it would take 4 1/2 hours to play. A couple holes had 2-3 groups backed up on them. THe rangers were good about getting the groups to waive up the next group on the par 3's but it still took 5+ hours to play.
Challenge in the best way
Well maintained course. Large greens. Played on Sunday, that one reason it took a little longer. But worth it.
Real fun course to play and well maintained.
We've played this course a few times before. Our club is flooded so we had to go to Golf Now to find something else. The Bridges of Popular Creek ended up being a great choice. It's not long so for shorter hitters it's a particularly fun track. with lots of hazards which in most cases are easy to negotiate. About the only complaint was the back nine played very slow. We actually finished the front nine in about 2 hours but the back was closer to 3 hours. But hey, every once in awhile stuff like that happens. We'll probably go back some time this summer to take advantage of a special rate.
Nice track with great greens.
First time I played it since renovation and really enjoyed it. Course used to be quite boring before but they did a great job with improving it. Greens are amazing for less than 2 years old. Played after some of the worst rain I can remember and they were slick and true even though they most likely were not maintained to the normal level because of 6"+ of rain within last week. Can't wait to play in July when they will be very slick with consistent warmer weather and cut a bit shorter. I highly recommend playing, you will enjoy it.
Only downside, the GPS were not installed yet.
Short, yet challenging course. You use almost every club in your bag.
Great Value.
The off-season has officially started and the value of what I paid for is why I am giving it 4 stars. The Bridges of Poplar Creek is a course which is in the middle of a residential/hospital complex area. Only a few holes actually have homes or buildings unrelated to the golf course on them.
The fairways were in great shape and the bunkers/sand were also well maintained. The greens had recently been sanded and some of the greens still had a noticeable amount of sand on them.
There are several holes where you need to use use an iron off the tee to lay up for water that crosses the fairway. Also, and not sure if this is typical, balls landing on the fairways run out a ways (e.g. my 4-Iron is a club I would typically use for a 190 yard shot. I chose it to lay up on one of the holes, and after the roll-out, the GPS indicated a 234 yard drive from the tee.)
The rough was pretty thick and punching out of it was the preferred way to deal with it in our group.
The only other comment is that we saw the beverage cart at least 4-5 times during the round. With the temperature near 80, this was much appreciated.
Nice course in the burbs
This course is always in pretty good shape and the layout is fun to play. This course is pretty short and the pace of play can get a little slow, but overall this is a nice course to play for a round with friends if you have the time.
Nice Challenge for a 19 handicap
We played at the start of the season in 45 degree weather with wind and rain. The greens needed some work, there were a few with holes in them. The fairways were in nice shape, and the course itself is pretty. The holes are all different with a good amount of water and a fair amount of sand. I want to play it again when the weather is a little more comfortable and give it another chance.
Aerated greens ruined the day!!
The course's lack of length (6500 from the tips) makes it play like target golf. The conditions were average for mid-May. I was VERY disappointed that the greens were aerated without any mention on GolfNow prior to booking! That was an unwanted surprise. Aeration holes were too big and affected EVERY putt!
unique course with lots of water in play
With 'bridges' being in the name of the course, expect a lot of water hazards. This course is a really fun track and very challenging. Lots of the holes require an approach shot over water to the dance floor.
This course was maintained very well but expect 5 hour play.
The greens are very challenging but this is not a very long course. I believe it to be a bit pricecy. I expected a lot more length and difficulty to this course for the price. Although it was maintained well I believe you can get alot more bang for your buck elsewhere.
Much Much bett er 100 % improved.
This golf course in good condition. Workers are friendly and service are in good hand.. that why we want to comeback again.
