Best of the Forest Preserves!
This is a really good track for money! Paid $62 for a weekend rate with a cart. Pace of play is expected to be a little slow on a Sunday and a group a couple tee times ahead of us was the reason for a 4 hour and 51 minute round. The course itself is one of my favorite munis in the area. It's really wide open so you can grip it and rip it with the driver almost every par 4 & 5. The real challenge and downfall of the course is the greens. They're generally fast and had a lot of unrepaired divots. Do the course of a favor if you're out there and fix yours and someone else's to try and save them. There's enough variety and elevation changes to make it interesting. Great for golfers of all levels with four tee boxes.
6/17/23
Greens are pretty slow but everything else is in good shape. Pace of play was VERY slow and only saw a marshall and cart girl once each.
best condition Ive seen this course in years, liked it
Fairways
Good value, decent pace, pretty good condition played well so that makes it fun.
Overall
Truly a nature preserve. Wide open fairways making a fun rewarding experience. Very good course condition.
Will come back!
Great Course
It been more than 20+ years seen i played this course, it did not disappoint me. Great kept fair way with challenges fringes, bunkers in every holes well place, need to think your shots, holes placements where well place and on hilly contour of the greens..
Great course
Favorite course in the area. Great pace of play. Great length. Fairways and greens are incredible. Only complaint is the lack of a cart girl! Played on a Sunday and no one came around for the entire round. Love this course regardless and will be back.
Overall great experience!
Course is in good condition. Value is there. It seams courses have jumped in cost this year and this was a great deal
Nice Muni
Nice muni to golf at.Not overly difficult, very wide open. Greens were in good shape, but the starters really should remind people to fix more than their own divots and to rake the bunkers. Every bunker I went by had major footprints and divots in it as well as unrepaired divots on the greens. The pandemic got alot more people into playing golf which is great, but all these new golfers need to learn some course etiquette. This would make the experience better for everyone!
First eleven holes were great, then.....
We went off at 6 AM to, presumably, beat the heat and crowds. The first 11 holes took under 2 hours. As we completed 11, we saw a sixsome on 12 who had joined up because five groups were backed up on 12 and 13. It was clear the course has limited nine-hole groups to go off the back early. That's great in theory but when the nine-hole rounds either don't play fast enough or, more likely, are too late to stay ahead of the first wave of 18s, it destroys the entire pace.
Any good starter should tell the first group off to be mindful that they control the pace for the whole day. The same goes for the pro shop and the group who go off the back.
We went off at 6 AM and finished in four hours. That's unacceptable.
