Need to have a ranger out there for pace of play. Greens were in horrible shape and the fairways left a lot to be desired. Too many nice courses out there to even think about playing again as is.
Pleasantly Surprised
Never playing here before, wasn’t really sure what to expect, but like for the most part what this course has to offer. The course has a nice layout, with a very good mix of short and long holes, a few dogleg holes, with most greens guarded with bunkers. There a few water hazards on the course, but other than a couple holes, really should not come into play. Course conditions are not too bad, but being a forest preserve course, it probably gets lots of play, so at the time of the year I played some of the greens were showing some wear, but still rolled well.
Over priced
Bought a 4 some package. One person didn't show due to being sick. Was forced to take on a 4th, and was not reimbursed the 65 dollars.
This course does not care about your experience. They have 10 minute gaps between tee times regardless of party size. You will just get hounded by the ranger to pick up the pace, and hit on the heels of people in front of you.
Will not play here again.
Slow play!
Greens were slow and sandy.
THEY SHOULD MENTION THAT WHEN TAKING TEE TIME RESERVATIONS!
Limited sand in bunkers.

Wait a couple weeks
Greens being aerated (front 9 last week back nine today). sand on greens makes it like you’re putting on the beach. I’ve played here before and it was real nice. I would say wait 7 to 14 days before playing. Hope it will get better by then

Soupy and aerated
They must have watered a ton the night before we played. Some of the tees were like casual water. The greens were aerated and a mess. But it’s September and for $35.00 to walk it’s acceptable. I like the layout and it’s close to home so I’ll be back

One of two best public park cook county golf courses
Incredible, challenging course. Long course that is well maintained and a joy to play.

Should have been closed
The back nine were closed to the public today and the front nine greens were full of sand . You could not putt the ball without it bouncing around. The course should have been closed. It was a waste of time and money today. Other than this experience the course has been great.
Good course
Course was great, the pace was a little slow for an early morning tee time.
A Pleasant Experience at Highland Woods
I had a wonderful time at this course. The staff was super friendly and understanding. They wanted to make sure I was satisfied with my experience. The course is a nice layout. It provides the player plenty of room to blast long drives down wide fairways and big greens. My only complaint was that there was no beverage cart and no water jugs on the course. I know these are covid times, but it was a heat index of close to 100 degrees. Something to address. Other than that, I thank you Highland Woods!
Best staff in the county
Pro shop girls were welcoming and informative. I’ve brought many members from my club to this course and they’re always impressed. Hard to find a course where the starter and Marshall aren’t the absolute worst to deal with.
Great course
Beautiful course, driving range, very friendly accommodating staff, love this place!! My golf cart stopped running on the 12th hole and they sent someone out to switch it very quickly. Much appreciated!
