Schaumburg Golf Club - Tournament/Baer Course

About
Schaumburg Golf Club is a 27-hole course that is divided into three nines: the Tournament, Baer, and Players. The nines are played in three different 18-hole combinations that offer a variety of different challenges. The nines have unique designs but all the courses share an undulating terrain and well manicured tees, fairways, and greens. Due to the quality of the design and excellent conditions, the course has been host to numerous events over the years including the U.S. Open Qualifying and Illinois Open Qualifying tournaments. The Tournament/Baer combination features plenty of water on the front nine, while the back nine is more forgiving but still dotted with strategically placed bunkers. Schaumburg is a popular course not only because of the design but also because of the country club setting at public-course prices.

Rude Warden
Warden hassled us every hole on the back 9, telling us to hurry up or be kicked off. We kept pace and finished 18 holes within 4 hours. Despite nobody behind nor in front of us, he kept coming by.
Solid course for the money.
Schaumburg golf course is one of my favorite courses. For a municipal course it is manicured and has greens that are some of the best in the area. It is always a fair test and a course I never get tired of playing.
Country club level golf-muni prices
Schaumburg GC is hands down my favorite course in NE Illinois. The course is almost always in great condition. Greens are fast but soft, letting you actually stick shots on the green. Fairways manicured and cut close with challenging rough, rewarding you for keeping it down the middle. With exception to some water hazards and backyards, very little OB on the course. Meaning if you tend to be inconsistent off the tee, this course won’t leave you running to the pro-shop to buy more golf balls at the turn. Hole length and layout is fun with very little curve balls, but not boring or dumbed down. Course will challenge high handicap players due to length of certain holes and pace of greens. But all players will enjoy their time due to the quality-to-price ratio. If you are a local you need to play this course at least once or twice.
slow play
Beautiful day to play, unfortunately we were behind pace 8-10 minutes by hole 4 and then ended up 25-28 minutes behind the whole back nine. Needless to say not 1 RANGER to come assist or lend a hand with relief, but there was plenty of wasteful spending of cart staff sitting near parking to stop E-bike riders from penetrating the course. Head staff guy at end of round during my Rant to him said he apologized and they needed to do better but unfortunately they FAILED. 77,000 golfers passed through the course last year which is well over $3-4 million just on golf, so if you raise your prices then we the Golfers expect better results.......DO BETTER.
Always great
Schaumburg seems to always tick all the boxes. One of the best overall courses in Chicagoland.
Great Muni!
Schaumburg is one of my fav municipal/park district courses in the area. Having 3 9s is a great bonus to keep it fresh. Course was in great shape with only minor areas under repair. Greens rolled perfectly. Range with top tracer is also a nice perk.
Nice course
The starter was especially great on the Baer course. The course is always fun and challenging. The holes were a little raggedly around the edges though. Don't need to make putting any harder.🙂
