Hit and miss
Usually have a good time, it depends on the time of the year. Been here when every things are in great shape. Also been here when place is just crap. When this place is in good shape the course is a great value for your money. This par 70 course has its share of challenging holes from moderate elevation changes to its 6,065 yard length from the back tees.
Nice Layout
The course overall is very fun and has a nice layout. The tea boxes are in really rough shape though. The group we played in front was extremely slow so we actually had to jump them but after that everything was really fun and had a overall great time.
Fun course to play
Interesting layout of several holes. Enjoy the elevated tee boxes and elevated greens that are prevalent throughout the entire course. Always play mid-day (12:00 - 1:00 PM) and get great rates with golfnow.com. Not crowded during the week at this time of day. Not as difficult as some courses in the Inland Empire but it is a course I look forward to playing throughout the year.
Good muni for the price.
This course is not in the best shape, but played on a Saturday for $19 in 2:15! It's a pretty decent layout and if your looking for a good value to beat the ball around,
this is it.
Great value for an interesting layout
This course offers a nice challenge at a very reasonable price. Played a round in 3.5 hours on a Friday. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I’ll be back again soon.
Course had good challenge.
Course has a challenging layout, but could use better maintenance. For the price it was worth playing again.
Fun place to play!
Challenging and in good shape. Bunkers need work, but greens and fairways are very nice. Friendly staff. Great course for everyone. And, by the way, the views are awesome.
No sands in the bunker
Poor maintenance, run down condition, grass in sand traps. Greens are okay.
It was disgusting
This course discriminates Golf Now golfers with others. I had arrived the course 16minutes before tee time. The starter had insisted I had to wait the other Golf Now golfer to share the cart.
But he let other walk-in single golfers to ride carts individually.
He let me take the cart when my scheduled tee time had passed and I complained.
However, he brought the other golfer who checked in late to the green of hole No.1 after I had teed off.
He was a cigar smoker. He never took off cigars during the play even though I coughed and told him I didn`t smoke.
I played here on Saturday (10/21) and was able to book an early tee time @ 6:40 (fast play). There were a couple of groups ahead of us who maintained good pace throughout. We were 3 of us and completed the round in less than 4 hours.
The course itself was in good shape with well-maintained fairways although the rough around fairways could be better. Interestingly, there weren't any bunkers. Most of the holes have wide fairways except a couple which are narrow. My favorite hole is 17th where the hole location is down the hill (200 yrds, par 3) and trust me it feels very good when your tee shot lands on the green.
There is a small snack bar with quite a bit items on the menu and of course BEER. The staff were very friendly and I am pretty sure I will be playing there more often.
Love playing there
My buddies and I play cresta verde all the time . Of course there’s better courses around but they are pricy . This place is perfect for us when we want a nice quick round with excellent staff that is really helpfull and go above and beyond to make our stay fun and comfortable. We have play some really high end courses with better & faster greens . But we seam to like this place allot it’s the best bang for your buck. I highly recommend this course ...
Give it a shot.
I primarily play anywhere in the I.E., Palm Springs area, and Menifee/Hemet/Temecula area. So, I'm a visitor of many courses. Nice and not so nice. I've enjoyed playing Cresta Verde. I actually played it 2 weeks in a row. The price is slightly above what I feel a course in its condition deserves. About $35 seems reasonable. I payed $39 on GN. Greens are green, but there are trouble spots in them. They don't run real true either, there are bumps and they are uneven. Tee boxes are about a 6/10. Some of the fairways are brown, thin, and patchy. Any area away from the fairway must be avoided. Bunkers are non-existent and over grown with grass. This place needs a lot of TLC. I do enjoy it's layout. The fact that I can get out right away and finish a round quick is a plus. Also helps that the lady who checks us in (Asian) is so nice. A real Sweetheart. Overall, the course is about a 6/10. I'm sure I'll be back.
Right course for the price.
Cresta Verde was an average course. The layout was nice but some fairways and greens needed some TLC for aesthetic appeal. The staff were very accommodating. This was a nice average course for the Hot Deal price we paid. I would probably play here again but not anytime soon.
Needs TLC
Pace was excellent. Greens & fairways need a lot of TLC. Good value for the money if you want to use all of your clubs and realize there will be some speed-bumps on the greens. At least you will know what your getting for $20 or less. People were very friendly in the clubhouse (snack counter). Beer was cold.
Golf now
Greens were a little beat up. Overall course was cool.
Good value if under $20
Nice layout, lots of challenges, some holes are in bad shape. Dirt fairways. Very bumpy, kept loosing stuff out of the cart. Still a good value if under $20. I wouldn't pay anymore. We play new courses all the time and we won't go back anytime soon but I would recommend this course for a first time only under $20 in current condition.
Bad greens and worse staff
The day started well enough with a 6am tee time but the course was very wet and the greens were soaked. Wasn't expecting too much but the tee boxes were mangled and there was crab grass throughout each green which was very disappointing. We had a good time as pace of play was the best part only to return to the rudest woman working the snack bar. We stopped after 9 and very friendly but then we we're told she was going to ban us after 18 because one of our 4 had a canned beer (not purchased there). She grabbed it from his hand at the clubhouse and said "I can leagally do this!" Then got aggressive about it when we picked up clubs to leave. Very strange day from a course that was partially maintained at best.
Play at your leisure but be aware that's all.
Better than working
The course is average. The homes around the course are an eye sore. Someone actually let their dog out to potty on the course while I was teeing off. I didn't want to hit the dog so I waited , but how classless. Other than the things you can't control this was a good experience. The staff was very very friendly. I will return for sure. The price is fair and the course is fine for what you pay.
Played this course again today and the weather was great. The course is improving and it's still our favorite golf course in the area. I birdied the 1st Hole for the first time. It's a long par 5. Awesome! The staff is still awesome too.
