Rush job
Guy behind the counter won't give us the key to our cart until 11:52 which was our tee time. No one was on the box for 20 minutes in front of us. Then he told us we had to hurry because they had a shotgun starting on hole #6 in one hour. Was very frustrating.
Glad it was a Hot Deal
Got a Hotdeal for this course and certainly glad i didnt pay full price. I arrived early for my tee time because I wanted to practice a bit of chipping and putting. It had rained earlier and rain was just stopping. When I checked in the fellow looked at me and when he found out I was on a Hotdeal he said he wouldnt be able to get me out til later. There was no one else on the course or in the club house looking to play. I shrugged and went to the practice green which afforded limited space to practice chipping. After about 40 minutes i went back and he said i would have to wait until another Golf Now golfer showed up. Which happened a few minutes later when two more HotDealers showed up. He said the three of us could go out together. Which we did. I split off on my own after two holes and was done in under 3 hours because the course was empty..
Course is interesting but has suffered from lack of care. Greens are ok, tee boxes and fairways patchy and rough.
WILL NOT PLAY IT AGAIN EVEN IF IT IS FREE
Let me preface by saying that due to injuries I sustain in combat, I have a difficult time walking. On this day I wanted to warm up and because their Driving range is at the bottom of a hill, I requested to sign up for the cart, early. And the starter told me that it was not allowed. I explain the situation and I even pointed out that there was a cart already at the driving range. My words fell in deaf ears. I walked away and waited for my t-time. On February 9th 2016 I made a t-time and when I got off the freeway the traffic was bumper to bumper. I called the golf course to let them know that I was being delayed. When I arrived to Hamner Ave./N. main and E. Parkridge ave., in Norco, The whole area was closed off due to Police activity. I later found out from a police officer that there was a bomb threat in one of the shopping centers and the was no way of getting to the golf course. I called the golf course again only to be confronted by a "Godzilla" who was only interested in hearing herself speak. She did not care what the situation was and she was not going to find out because it was outside of he scope. Bottom line, if you get here, you will get a ride to where the golfer we pair you with is at.
The time was lost and the golf course pocketed the money. I am SP and I would like to ask any Vets not to play this course. There are may other golf coursed that will treat us and respect us better than Cresta Verde Golf Course. If you are any of my personal friends, I urge you to do the same.
I WILL NOT PLAY THIS COURSE AGAIN EVEN IF IT IS FREE.
Thank you
Affordable
The price is right when hot deal.
4 1/2 Hour Round On A Saturday Morning!!!!
I'd never played this course before. I was pleasantly surprised, it was a cool morning out, but the course was empty. We played as a threesome and finished in less than 4.5 hours. Looking forward to playing there again.
Good value
This course has some nice elevation changes that make your shots more interesting.
smooth play
I could play 18holes in 3 hrs. It was very smooth. Cource is strategic.
By FAR its the best value in Inland Empire
This is a great course that has a good mixture of some easy holes and then a few challenging holes. I have been playing here for 7 years and the course has come a long way. It is getting better and better as far as maintenance goes. I appreciate the work that has been put in to improve many of the holes. The ladies are always so friendly, smiling and accommodating. Unlike my game, they seem to never have a bad day! I usually play as a twosome with my buddy and rarely do we have a round that takes 4 hours. I saw some complaints about Veterans' day but we played that day and I have to disagree. The pace of play was fine for a "golf heavy" holiday like Veterans' Day.
Good GolfNow Value
The course is dry and ill maintained. Tumbleweeds and shrubs over grown. It's a good value if you pay less than $20 with a cart.
Best course in Corona
Love coming to this course. I come here often and every time, Lauren and her staff are very friendly. Definitely a course you can come and enjoy, their breakfast burritos and sausage dogs are excellent before you golf and on the turn. Great food, great staff and excellent course.
Donnell and Dee's Home Course
The best course ever! For the Value you can not go wrong. We play twice a week- during the week. Check in is fast. Staff is the best. We enjoy playing this course its more personable- The greens are good. We always finish with in a 3 hour period. If you want to play a great course during the week for under $25 this is a great option.
Better condition than ever before
We have payed this course several times last year and this was the best condition we have seen on the course. Obviously, the grounds staff have been doing a great job with lots of clearing of brush, good drainage and clean fairways. The girls in the shop were extremely friendly, inviting and efficient. They really made everyone feel welcome and a part of the club. The hot dogs were great. We would definitely return again and recommend this course to others. Great value for the cost.
Dont Play
Read the recent reviews and they claimed that the course was in good shape and greens were good, not the case. This course is beat up, greens had dead and bald spots on it, tee boxes were long grass or dirt, most fairways were bald or dirt, and speed of play was awful. It took 3 1/2 hours to play the front 9, and then 30 min to play 10 and 11, we left after that, it was going to turn into a 7 hour round of golf. It was not fun. No marshall to direct play or try to speed things up, it wasnt till after our group and another group quit for them to relize maybe we should send some one out there. Do not recommend this course. The pictures do not look like the course at all
Great bang for your buck!!
I love playing this course, you have great different elevations the greens are always in great shape and the pace of play is amazing. Staff is friendly and professional and it's a very great value for your money.
New Management / Ownership
Lauren the new Manager and I believe one of new owner, since taking over has turn this course into a very positive and very enjoyable experience. Since last time i played, fairways are much better and greens as always very very well kept.
I was very impressed by her ability to be on top of all aspects of the game of golf and her personality has been a tremendous plus. Look forward to playing again next time I am in the area
So improved over the last 2 years
Cresta Verde was a tired golf course when I first played there. Over the last 2years, greens and fairways have been worked on-overgrown out of bounds have been trimmed, and the overall course has been restored to much nicer conditions-looking much more like the course Lucy and Desi used to play!
A Hidden Gem in the Inland Empire
Cresta Verde is course that will challenge both the experienced golfer and the beginner alike. I played on a Saturday morning at 9:15 AM and the course was wide-open.
The challenge to this course is STAY IN THE MIDDLE! The rough is a combination of very thick and deep Bermuda and Tall Fescue. Even in the first cut of the rough your ball will set well below the top of the grass making it very hard to do anything other than chop it out into the fairway.
The course is narrow but wide enough, and winds through the Corona Hills at the intersection of the 15-215 freeways. Definitely a riding course unless you have great stamina. The greens are flat with little undulation and normal speed.
You will not be disappointed with Cresta Verde.
Great Value
Course was in fairly good condition, nice greens, nice cut to fringe, narrow fairways but short.
Great value at $10 rate +fee
Will play again
Excellent Value - Challenging Course
The greens are in good shape and the fairways are improving week over week. The layout of this course is awesome with some great elevation changes that have you hitting up to greens where you can barely see the pin, to fairways and greens that are far below the tee box.
The staff are extremely friendly. You have to try the breakfast burritos - they are fantastic!
Huge Improvement!!
I started playing this course a year ago since it was close to my home. The fairways were fair with several bald areas (hard pan) on several fairways. For the price that I paid, this course has improved dramatically!! Their fairways are trimmed properly, there was only one hole that had a few hard pans (bald area) compared to several a year ago. The owner is very friendly and accomodating, and customer service is excellent! I will definitely play this course again and probably make it my home course now.
There are always 2 sides to every story. That being said, I find it deplorable that you went through the efort of finding out how much money this person spent over the previous months/years. If you don't like Golfnow clients, then don't keep your relationship with Golfnow! It was very petty holding how little this patron has paid against him. Having read multiple other reviews with complaints about things that can't be found at other courses, like not allowing carts to be rented untill the tee time is absurd. Or making a Golfnow client wait for other Golfnow members to come in so you can make them play together, instead of allowing the person to tee off alone at THEIR scheduled time, tc!
My question is was this person of some oriental ? Reason I am asking is because I had a few words with her today as she shorted me 4 holes due to irrigating being done.
Oops, Godzilla thumbs! 16 out of the 25 rounds were paid to Golfnow.
Mr. Espinoza, let me start by stating that I have numerous friends who are Veterans, and I respect them to no end. I also want to clarify, that the golf course did not “pocket” any monies from you – not yesterday, not ever. In fact, after I saw your review, I talked to Golfnow, and they said they gave you a $15 voucher or credit for a future round at any golf course booked through them for the golf you missed yesterday. I also checked our records, and out of the 25 rounds of golf you have played here at Cresta Verde Golf Course since February of 2015, the total green/cart fees paid to us is $170. The monies you paid for the remaining 19 rounds were paid to Golfnow. We try very hard to accommodate all of our golfers, but we obviously can’t please everyone. As far as what happened yesterday, we first gave you a courtesy call and you said you would be 10 minutes late. The other single golfer was nice enough to wait the 10 minutes beyond your mutual tee time. You then called about police activity and I tried to give you alternate directions, but you didn’t know your cross streets. Offering to drive you out to the other single golfer was an attempt to work with you, not to offend you, and you would have been able to play the holes you missed after your round. It is interesting to me that you gave us such a scathing review when you didn’t even golf here after we waited for you, and Golfnow credited you for the round.
