All around, this is a very reasonable course to play as long as the rough doesn't get too high. Not too many bunkers and the greens are not overly defended at all. Greens were pretty true, too.

but it is still enjoyable and beautiful and not easy

I was very disappointed in the condition of the course. I've played there many times and I've never seen the course in this bad of shape. Needless to say but I won't be going back any time soon!

Definitely recommend. Always a good time. Don't know what else to say and needed to use up minimum characters.

We had breakfast in the clubhouse, then a warm up on the driving range. The starter was very accommodating, as well as providing some tips. We loved the course and hope to play again.

Good overall course. In good condition and I made 3 birdies.

The greens were very bumpy which is not usual for third course.

The areas outside the fairways were up to 8 inches high, and had dry grass covering them from the last time they were cut.The ground was dry and has been dry since the last cutting. A member told us this high grass has been this way for over two week.

Booked with golf now and there was no AIRIATION alert - the greens were punched and sanded on the back very poorly - the front was a little better but in horrible shape - the rough was so long we lost many balls we would normally find in the rough - very disapointed

Played 9 holes with my wife and grown son. Weather was excellent and we really enjoyed ourselves. I would have had a respectable score except for the 4 balls I could not find in the fairway. Will come back again.

Pace of play mid-afternoon is good

Fairways were on fine shape but the rough sure was rough as soon as it dries so they can mow I will return

For a public course the rough was way long. It effected pace of play. If you were off the fairway a couple of feet you could lose your ball. People were spending way to much time looking for a ball they should have been able to walk up and hit. Also no sand in the bunkers.

Grass needs mowing, had fun they just fixedthedraining system needs time to come back

Oakmont West is a nice layout. There are some creeks located in common landing zones so you have to give that some thought. The greens are small, fast, and heavily undulating. Unfortunately, the greens were not smooth making fast puts difficult to manage. There were a few spots in the fairways that were very wet. Overall, the fairways were in good shape. The rough is kept high (4-6").

The weather was great (70 degrees F) and the course is located with mountains surrounding it. As is often common, there are houses lining most of the fairways.

My buddies and I enjoy our short 20-min ride to the West course from Sonoma. Its always a nice place to play, other players are pleasant, pro shop people are nice - all good.

Course is generally flat with not too many challenges other than trees, but makes up for it with fast greens that have a lot of different slopes on them. Not many flat spots on the greens so it makes it a good test of your putting.,

Started with a frost delay, but staff was professionally prepared for 1& 10 hole starts, with minimal wait on the back (front) nine turn.
Big hitters can take advantage on some short par 5's but better be straight there are well placed bunkers, creeks, and water hazards line the fairways the trees don't.

I didn't see anything on the Golfnow web site indicating the course was undergoing major drainage and seeding renovation. The back nine was seeded and roped off. While I understand seeding the course would prevent mowing and cause very sketchy concditions, I don't understand not disclosing this as the reason for reduced twighlight rate. In addition, this was a pre-paid non-refundable deal. I would have paid more money to golf elsewhere, but once it was 12:20 on Sunday afternoon, my options were limited.
