River Run Golf Course
About
River Run Golf Club in Ocean City is just minutes away from the beach. The golf course has different front and back nines that make for an interesting round. This Gary Player design starts out across a wide-open landscape before moving on to more tree-lined terrain on the backside. The tighter back nine is tougher than the first nine but overall it's an approachable golf course. The player-friendly layout is gentle enough for beginners with medium-sized greens that aren't especially difficult and generous fairways that offer plenty of room. There is modest bunkering along the greens and fairways and a few lakes and some marshland come into play as well. While River Run Golf Club may not be the most formidable test, the course provides just enough of a challenge for scratch golfers.

6th "Green" Photo submitted by DrOldSchool on 08/15/2018
Horrendous
The course condition was absolutely atrocious. Fairways and tee boxes were absolutely torn apart. The greens were terrible as well. Not to mention, the driving range didn’t even use real balls. It consistent of foam balls. If you’re going to charge $95, this is absolutely unacceptable. Either lower the price or fix up the course…
Nice course, some areas need work. Friendly staff and a good challenge!
Nice Course and great restaurant.
Construction of homes near the course was distracting. But only impacted a few holes.
Staff was great!
The course restaurant "Hideaway " was excellent!
Needs a redo
Over the years we’ve played River Run and enjoyed it. This year it was in deplorable conditions. Most of the greens had large areas of fungus. The fairways had a lot of bare spots and the rough in manicured. Since they are building new homes on the property, the driving range has been reduced to hitting plastic balls which travel about 70 yards for every club. Next year there will only be driving cages and no range. With the building growth in the area, it’s doubtful the course will survive anticipated expanded development. If it does, it will need a lot of maintenance. I don’t like to write critical reviews but the course was so disappointing and I was glad we didn’t pay more. They were receiving new carts so maybe a turnaround is in their future. They have enhanced their dining area.
Nice people, very poor condition
Greens were in bad shape, recently punched, very slow and lots of bare spots.
Okay for $40 to swing a club and get some exercise but don’t expect good conditions. Nice layout.
New Construction Alley
If you like riding through jobsites you’ll love it.
I haven’t been there in a while - the new construction that’s going on is ridiculous. They made no mention of it at the Pro Shop.
Course conditions were average at best.
At any rate- it’s worth playing at twilight rates - but I’d never pay full boat.
Advance notice required
A few greens were fine. Half were burnt out, and four were recently pinned with sand fill. Why do you show a $95 regular rate with a hot deal for $56 when playing conditions warrant $40?
