About
River Run Golf Club in Ocean City is just minutes away from the beach. The golf course has different front and back nines that make for an interesting round. This Gary Player design starts out across a wide-open landscape before moving on to more tree-lined terrain on the backside. The tighter back nine is tougher than the first nine but overall it's an approachable golf course. The player-friendly layout is gentle enough for beginners with medium-sized greens that aren't especially difficult and generous fairways that offer plenty of room. There is modest bunkering along the greens and fairways and a few lakes and some marshland come into play as well. While River Run Golf Club may not be the most formidable test, the course provides just enough of a challenge for scratch golfers.

The course is really beat up
I played River Run today. Wonderful staff working the golf course but the course itself is in really tough shape. The fairways are really thin and it seems the rain and heat have done a major number on them this summer.
Greens were decent but a bit slow.
Wonderful Time
Had a great time at River Run. The course layout is very nice and is well maintained. Some of the holes had some damage from recent storms but that is understandable given the quantity and severity of the storms. I'm looking forward to playing here again soon!!
Not up to par
We played this course on a hot deal. When we arrived, the starter said that the front was being aerated and we would have to play the back twice. The course or Golf Now should have notified us of the conditions. We would not have paid $100 to play. The fairways have many bare spots and large patches of dead ground. The greens are okay. One gets the feeling that. It is just getting run down.
Slow
Front 9 closed for aeration but didn’t know ahead of time. Extremely slow pace.
Played after a lot of rain
Due to the substantial rain we had gotten over the past week the course was very wet. Usually the course is in excellent condition, but the rain had obviously taken a toll on it.

I didn't play, course was closed do to raining day, I need a full credit
Cancelation T time
I am very upside with this app the course was close and I could not cancel my reservation that was already paid
Excellent course in good condition and unbelievably great value if you don’t mind playing after 1 PM. Played twice in the same week and would definitely recommend to others.
Nice course but what storm damage
Did not like cart path only for entire course. Not sure it was still necessary. Some areas yes from storm damage. Would like to play again when in better shape
Why Cart Path Only?
Enjoyable course, but 75% of the time it is cart path only, easily twice as frequent as other area courses, maybe more so. I suspect management wants to keep the course pristine for the home owners that line the course, at the expense of the golfers. "Too wet", "too dry", "just seeded", "just aerated", "too hot" (when it was in the 80s in July, really?) are just some of the reasons I've heard. It gets annoying after a while and wife will no longer play the course because of it.
