Ocean Pines Golf Club

First time playing this course, and it just isn't that good for what we paid for. The course is a typical community course in pretty fair shape with some tough shots. I gave this course a rating of 2 due to the staff. The starters failed to mention to us that it was cart path only. We talked to the starter for over 20 minutes while we waited for our foursome to warm up and grab some drinks, and he never mentioned "cart path only" once. With that said, the marshall comes out and tells us that we need to stay on the path, no problem. I told him that we were never instructed on this and before I could finish what I was saying to him, he stated "now I told you" and sped off. I met up with him at the turn while he was talking to the manager, told him there was no reason to be rude and that the starter really didn't tell us this. The manager did nothing, not even an apology or anything. This just put a bad taste in my mouth. This guy did the same thing to a group next to us. You think if that many people are on the fairways that maybe your starters should inform the golfers? Makes sense to me.

We chose this course over others because of its location to where we were going that night. I understand the importance of cart path only, as I play 2-3 times a week and love the game. I also understand the importance of customer service. There are just too many options with other courses nearby to go when we are down the ocean for a few times a year and in the summer.

The staff was great starting with the bag drop all the way to the returning of the cart. Course was in great shape and the greens were super fast.

Great course pro shop and starter need better personalities. Better people skills, cart girl and bar very good.

Fun challenging course. Greens are in good shape. You have to shape some shots on about ten holes to be in position for your second.

Played for $22. Greens were fast and in good condition. Layout was challenging but fair. Tight course. Way better course for the $$$ than a lot in the OC/Rehoboth area.

not too easy, not to hard very enjoyable course played the whites but if you want a real challenge back up and you will get it

Tee boxes and fairways need work. Greens were good. Many other better courses in the OC area. This could be one of them but not now.

This course is a great designed course. Find it challenging. Starter and golf shop people are helpful and friendly.
Only knock is played on recently aerated greens and fairways.

Two things that held down the rating were the greens having been aerated the prior week and poor grass conditions on the tee boxes and fairways. Still enjoyed my round.

The design is straight forward what you see is what you get. Pro shop staff very professional, but the cart guy said he was "brain Dead" and proved it.

The course was recently aerated and was not in great playing condition, give it a couple of weeks.

The RTJ sr. designed course was a very traditional tree lined layout .The fairways and greens were just aerated so the conditions were poor for putting.If I had known it was just aerated,I would not have played.GolfNow should be aware of this and notify the customer in the course description.

Greens were excellent, fairways were above average.
Course was difficult but fair. Pretty tight with water on about half the holes.
It was a great value for the price.

Called morning of reservation to add 4th golfer. Was told my reservation had been switched to 45 mins later. I told them that would cause problems because I had dinner reservations and was told to take it or leave it. What made me upset is that no one called or emailed me to tell me of the switch. Their 30 seconds to call was just too much to ask.

The course had a real nice layout. Fairways were lush and green. The greens however had lots of unfixed ball marks and drag marks. I guess no one fixes ball marks on this course. The pace was slow the first 9. They had 3 groups of 2 go out before. None of them paired up and it got slow. At one time we had 4 groups on the same hole. Now after 9 all of them left and the pace was right on. I would play this course again.

Ocean Pines is a very traditional and challenging course. I enjoyed playing and hope to return.

The greens were fast, the fairways lush and green, and the rough could penalize you if you tried to get to greedy. The weather was great and we all enjoyed the golf outing and the course.

Very enjoyable round. The course is in excellent condition.

Would recommend all day. Great play! Can play it long from the black tees, but whatever tees you play, this course presents a challenge. Greens are well guarded! Fairways are narrow and dog-leg left and right! Great vacation course!

Even the most pristine course needs a friendly Staff.
Everyone but Vini, seemed like they did not want to be there.
How hard is it to see that a guest gets their credit card back after leaving it on the counter?

I visit & play this course every July. First let me say that RTJ courses are a handful for my game. This course is long, somewhat difficult, and tight among the trees and hazards. Unless, you play the forward Ladies tees bring your A game. That being said, It poured rain the night before, and we had the first tee time on Sunday, Cart path only, standing water, everywhere, and they could not cut the greens, fairway or rough. Greens however, were in excellent condition true and fast, would be superb if a little dryer. Fairways were like first cut of rough& rough was ankle deep grass & water.We lost a couple of balls 5yds off the fairway. Tough conditions, tough course to score on when it is dry& cut. I'll give them a pass due to the heavy rain.
