My time didn't matter
Called morning of reservation to add 4th golfer. Was told my reservation had been switched to 45 mins later. I told them that would cause problems because I had dinner reservations and was told to take it or leave it. What made me upset is that no one called or emailed me to tell me of the switch. Their 30 seconds to call was just too much to ask.
Nice layout
The course had a real nice layout. Fairways were lush and green. The greens however had lots of unfixed ball marks and drag marks. I guess no one fixes ball marks on this course. The pace was slow the first 9. They had 3 groups of 2 go out before. None of them paired up and it got slow. At one time we had 4 groups on the same hole. Now after 9 all of them left and the pace was right on. I would play this course again.
Great Course
Ocean Pines is a very traditional and challenging course. I enjoyed playing and hope to return.
Golfing near the Ocean
The greens were fast, the fairways lush and green, and the rough could penalize you if you tried to get to greedy. The weather was great and we all enjoyed the golf outing and the course.
Good variety in the layout.
Very enjoyable round. The course is in excellent condition.
Terrific course
Would recommend all day. Great play! Can play it long from the black tees, but whatever tees you play, this course presents a challenge. Greens are well guarded! Fairways are narrow and dog-leg left and right! Great vacation course!
Pride in your Job
Even the most pristine course needs a friendly Staff.
Everyone but Vini, seemed like they did not want to be there.
How hard is it to see that a guest gets their credit card back after leaving it on the counter?
Rain, tainted review
I visit & play this course every July. First let me say that RTJ courses are a handful for my game. This course is long, somewhat difficult, and tight among the trees and hazards. Unless, you play the forward Ladies tees bring your A game. That being said, It poured rain the night before, and we had the first tee time on Sunday, Cart path only, standing water, everywhere, and they could not cut the greens, fairway or rough. Greens however, were in excellent condition true and fast, would be superb if a little dryer. Fairways were like first cut of rough& rough was ankle deep grass & water. We lost a couple of balls 5yds off the fairway. Tough conditions, tough course to score on when it is dry& cut. I'll give them a pass due to the heavy rain.
A nice course!
Beautiful course to suit all levels of player, with 5 tees for each hole. Immaculate greens AND fairways. Every hole is unique and careful shot planning is required from tee to green. Only negative was cart paths only the day we played, but worth it for the superb conditions on the course. Didn't try the food at the turn, and no snack/beverage cart our day. All considered, We'll definitely be back.
Nice course
Very nice for women to play, my wife and I got paired up and played in about 4 hours. Had to play cart paths only, not sure why but that was one thing I didn't like. Also, when using a gps to find the course DONT USE THE BERLIN ADDRESS, punch in the address but put ocean pines instead of Berlin. GPS sent us 10 miles away.
Vaca round
There was no beverage cart, got off later than our time, about 20 minutes. Ok at best, not much scenery.
Ocean pines golf is a hidden treadure
Fairways great grass, greens awesome and fast course was lush and green great shape
Real sand in bunkers too
Ocean pines
Much improved from several years ago. Will play there again, especially at the Golf Now rate. Outstanding value for a course in such good condition. Several very interesting holes just added to the enjoyment of the round.
True Challenge
This golf course is extremely challenging. When the starter asked if we were playing the whites and we told him blue he said 'good luck with that'. There is also a set of blacks and the blues certainly made his comment stand up. Every hole unique and every hole a challenge. Par threes exceptional and every 4/5 a dogleg or some kind of twist. Water, OB, trees, rough and sand. All of this with elevated greens that require crisp contact of you are over the green. Add to that the crowning effect and narrow (18") of collar any ball with bad spin required chipping to undulated greens. One of the best public golf courses I have ever played.
Great Track
Certainly opportunity to use all the clubs in your bag. From the whites, there are opportunities to score even for +20 handicappers. The par 3's are the most challenging of all holes as what they may or may not lack in distance, you need to make up for with accuracy or water/sand is in your future.
Overall a pleasant run, I'd play it again.
You need to think trough each shot
A very challenging course but fair. Will book it again!
good course for all golfers
first time at o.p.- enjoyed the course. each hole had a different look.fairways were good and greens were excellent. friendly staff. we will return.
Course needs a haircut!
Could easily be one of the nicest courses on the entire East Coast. There is not a bad hole on that golf course and each one is challenging!
But PLEASE owners/members! Stop neglecting the course and put some money into maintenance. The fairways were so high you could actually get flyer lies. We did get a lot of rain Wed & Thursday, but it was SUNNY Friday thru Sunday. We played 2:15 Sunday afternoon and the course wasn't mowed in probably a week... Its a shame for this Robert Trent Jones masterpiece
