Editor's Note: Course closed for business in 2021.
Located a short distance from the Walt Disney World Resort and Orlando's airport, Hunter's Creek Golf Course offered a challenging game. It was the longest golf course in Florida and has been rated among the top 75 public courses in the U.S. The course winded through stately pines and thirteen lakes. The spacious, rolling fairways and expansive, undulating greens presented interesting challenges on the course. There were also many strategically placed bunkers and water hazards that come into play on almost every hole.

Muck improved over last year
Watched over last two years The course under the new greens Keeper Chuck has made remarkable improvements The Greens are excellent. We have Lpga tour players practicing there. The course is dry love how the ball runs out. The greens are quick and smooth THE COURSE IS GETTING BETTER EVERY DAY. They are working on the irrigation system. New management team in place looking to restore the course when it first opened in 1980's Ranked top 100 course in the country. US open and us Amatuer qualifying back then.
Getting Better Every Day
Although Mother Nature refuses to water the course, the maintenance team is doing an excellent job in keeping this course in playing condition. Yes, the fairways are brown. Probably from the fertilizer applied in hopes of more rain. But the fairways are firm and the ball rolls out nicely. The greens have brown spots, but that doesn't affect the fact that the greens are true and fast. The greens at #11 and #16 still have bad spots, but rarely is the pin in those areas. Rumor has it that the irrigation system is going to be repaired, along with some additional upgrades to the facility. Don't give up on this course. It will take time to repair the damage done by Integrity/Celebration Golf Management, the now defunct company that ruined more than 15 courses in the Central Florida area.
Potential but needs a lot of work.
Was excited to play here and it was my first time. The front nine was extremely slow as we were playing as three waiting on every hole behind two people. They would not speed up and there was no ranger. That being said they quit after nine holes and we still finished our round in three hours. The course is not in good condition. All the fairways are BURNT out as well as around the greens. The bunkers are normal and not in bad shape. The greens are burnt out in some spots but are average. I went into the club house to get some ice and water and there was none offered and the bar/restaurant was closed. Overall a bad experience and a burnt out course. Save your money there are tons of other courses in central Florida.
very disappointed in course condition for the price, fairways like hardpan, greens still in poor condition. We are locals but for these reasons stopped going. Since it was a nice day we thought we would play another nine since we were already there, were informed that it was fifteen dollars for each additional player if we played nine or eighteen and was non negotiable. Well sixty five bucks to play twenty seven. No thanks.we supported this course throughout all the mgmt changes ,sad to say, never to return.
Little Overpriced, But Good Track
This is a good, challenging track. I was not a Florida resident so I ended up paying about $30 more than what GolfNow told me I had to pay. So I would call before you book a tee time. The course plays very well, is in good shape, and gives a solid challenge to intermediate golfers.
Awful Experience
ALL and I mean ALL of the fairways were brown. Who has brown grass in Orlando at the end of March?? The golf shop attendant has no social skills. I left my shoes at home, ask if they sold women’s shoes. She replied yes and then turned to assist another customer. Why didn’t she ask what size I needed OR show me where they were located. So sad!
GREAT TEST OF GOLF
The staff are fantastic and made us welcome, from pro shop, to the starter!! Course is a good test of golf and greens rolled very true!! They are putting in a lot of time and effort to get the course to top notch!! Don't be fooled by the older reviews, the golf course is in very good condition!! My friends and I enjoyed the course, make sure you check it out, you will not be disappointed!! Play this course!!!
Desert
This was by far the worst course I have ever played, there is lots of water on the course but apparently only for decoration, it was DRY as a desert. There were major ponds on the golf course but the fairways were dry and brown and the tee boxes were sand traps. I get it, they need rain, been dry, that doesn't explain why with so much water it was as bad as it was.
A Real good day
Course was in good shape. Some tee boxes need a little TLC, but overall a fantastic time. We had a group of 24 and not many complaints.
Inside, the service was amazing by Linda. All food came out quickly and was good. Our glasses were never empty.
Thanks again, Linda.
We will be returning soon
Enjoyable
Brought a group of guys and we had a good time. Tee boxes need work, but otherwise good shape. Greens rolled well. Service inside was OUTSTANDING. Food and drink was served on time and with a smile. We enjoyed the 19th hole very much. Thank you Linda for great service!!!!!
Great Value
Good layout
Friendly staff
A couple of negatives - the range balls were BAD - a couple of cut balls, a core, and paint that transferred to the clubhead.
The bar was closed at 4pm on a Saturday.
Good value
Booked this course and found it very playable. Greens short and fast , some burnt but playable. Second group off played with my partner in 2.5 hrs, so get up early before the snowbirds get up.Staff could not have been nicer will be back
Will wait till it rains to go back
This is the second time we played this season. Once in Nov and now in March.
The Good. The greens are good. Quite fast. Layout is good as well. Lots of interesting holes.
The Bad. No irrigation for tees or fairways it seems. Most tees were just sand. Fairways brown. Many times you could see your drive "splash" sand as it bounced down the fairway. Virtually all your shots are off of hard pan. Your divot is sand. Bunkers poor. As the greens are watered, many of the traps were wet making good sand shots mostly impossible. The quality of the sand except for 18 was poor and no one did any raking as most had no rakes or a limited number.
When it rains for a couple of weeks we will return, as we have some Group Golfer certificates to use up, but if I had known the conditions I would not have bought them. Hopefully they can get the irrigation working. If so, it would be a very good course. Until then there are many other much better rounds in the area.
Hunters Creek
Enjoyed the layout. Greens are recovering. Bunkers still need work. Fairways were dry. Course is improving and much improved from the last time I played it. Pace was frustrating and course needs a ranger to keep groups moving.
Still being brought back
The course has been taken over by another company and is being worked on. The condition is better than it was but still has some way to go.
Let it roll
On a hot day our foursome played Hunter's Creek. The course was a bit dry, but that allowed the golf ball to get a good roll on the fairway. :) We had a good time in spite of the heat.
