Located a short distance from the Walt Disney World Resort and Orlando's airport, Hunter's Creek Golf Course offered a challenging game. It was the longest golf course in Florida and has been rated among the top 75 public courses in the U.S. The course winded through stately pines and thirteen lakes. The spacious, rolling fairways and expansive, undulating greens presented interesting challenges on the course. There were also many strategically placed bunkers and water hazards that come into play on almost every hole.

Once great, now not so much
I used to live in this community and have played the course more than a hundred times. In the late 80's this course was in wonderful condition and a challenge from all 5 sets of tees. A few days ago I would say the condition of the course was fair at best. There was no evidence of winter overseeding, and the fairways were sparce, with what little grass there was tightly mowed. The course was soggy even though there had been no rain. I'm not sure if there was an irrigation problem, but we played off sloppy lies all day. Chipping around the greens was extremely challenging due to the lack of grass and wet conditions. The one bright spot was the playability of the greens. They were in fine shape, though some of the pins were set where no golfer would place them. The driving range has limited space, which causes the condition of the turf to be pretty chewed up. The balls were dirty and worn out. The outside staff was friendly and helpful.
I always loved this layout but the course conditions degrade the experience. I will eventually go back, but not in the near future.
Nice layout
Good course but 5 1/2 hours takes the fun out of it
Did not provide as advertised
We booked on Golfnow as a special promotion (and paid a little more) to include range balls, a towel, and lunch. They were out of golf towels and offered us a logo ball in exchange. Only lunch available was a hot dog and a bag of chips. The chef had gone home. Very disappointing deal. We could have booked a course cheaper without the lunch special and would have been happier.
Fairways had little grass and could be in better shape. Greens were in better condition than the fairways. Course was crowded but we seemed to move along okay. There were 3 groups on the tee box when we made the turn. After a few holes, we spaced out again.
Florida course
There were 2 three somes and a 2 some in front of us. No ranger anytime on the courise that we saw. Waited on every shot and took over 5 hrs to play.
Not as Advertised
The course was in fair to poor condition. The staff was dismissive and did not offer all the amenities listed on the GolfNow reservation. Those amenities were a part of the reason for booking that course, because, again, the course is not in very good shape. It wasn't expensive but I would still not recommend it to anyone.
Good bang for your buck
Course was in good shape, pair up with two other vacationers we played from the white tees and found it to be long enough. We finished it in three and a half hours! One group insisted we play through.
OK course, could use some work
Played at 1:30 in afternoon on a Wednesday, 3:45 for 18 holes. Got deal on Golf Now for $25 plus tax which was acceptable rate for this course in the condition its in, would not pay much more to play here. I understand we are "in season" now but rates have gone up far more than in he past here. A lot of bare areas and unfilled divots in fairways, most bunkers have no rakes? (so they are not raked) many patchy greens. Greens rolled OK if you weren't on the bad areas.
This course needs help
Chose this course due to the 3.5/5 rating but it is not even close. Thin or little grass in the fairways and on the greens. Golfnow rate was $44, not worth $20. Someone with some capital needs to rescue this course in a hurry. This is a nice and fair layout going to waste
course is player friendly for your average golfer
would play again .
lots of water hazards on course but most of it
is there for the view .
Course condition
The staff was friendly and I was able to complete my round in a very reasonable amount of time, but the course condition was very bad. The fairways were in terrible condition and the tee boxes were all bowed.
One of the less expensive courses in the areas, so I guess I was not too shocked by the condition but even for the price, I would not play there again.
great layout
contrary to many reviews,we found this course in very good condition and really enjoyed our round except for the pace of play
Great experience
Great experience from club drop off to finish. the staff were really friendly and as a result the golfers we encountered were great. Course was in excellent shape.
Very disappointing.
Course was in poor condition. I believe under new managent and in need of some
Investment.
would not recommanded it
Very slow. Nô Marshall. We took more than 5:15 h to play this golf course to expensive for the quality.
Beautiful course but way too slow.
The course design is fantastic and everything is in good shape. However, the pace of play was ridiculous. I was there for over 3 hours and only got to play 10 holes. There wasn't a Marshall to govern pace of play so people just take forever. I'm usually a laid back golfer and don't really worry about time all that much but when you have to wait 5-10 minutes between shots it would start to annoy anybody.
Hunters Creek - A Value Choice
This is the best Value golf course in South Orlando.
Conditions are in line with the green fees charged. If you want the best conditioned greens, and smooth cart path run offs, then go to a $125 course.
We played Hunters Creek on a warm Sunday in January at 11:00 after Church. We had 3 reserved on Golf Now, but one of our group had to drop out to investigate a Boat Plane crash in South Florida. No injuries, but the Plane had to be recovered from the lake!
The Hunters Creek pro shop had no problem changing our reservation on the spot, and charging us for two players. Thank you for that!
Lastly, the Hunter's Creek layout is a real test of golf. Narrow and long, so play the forward tees. If you shoot your handicap at Hunters Creek from your regular set of tees you played a great round!
Course quality
Played this course at 2:08 pm bút could not finish. I skipped 2 and ended the last two holes in quite some darkness. That tells me that its a slow playing course. Beside that the course was in good condition and the price was fair.
Good course for the price
Course was in medium condition but for the price a great value. Had a wonderful time with 3 new friends.
Cold Hands...Warm heart
I was vacatin with with wife looking for a good value to get in a nice round. Course sets up nicely with a lot of dogleg rights. Great course if you cut the ball. Pace of play was good despite groups going off very close together. It would have been nice if pairs were grouped together to make foursomes. There were 3 pairs of two-somes in front of us, but once again folks played quickly. I was paired with Mr. Hank , an older gent who plays this course on the regular. He was very helpful to play with. the staff were friendly and accommodating. Despite it being cold for Florida, I had a warm experience.
