Charlotte Harbor National Golf Club
About
Charlotte Harbor National Golf Club (formerly known as Bobcat Trail Golf Club), also known simply as "the Cat," has been considered one of Sarasota County's best courses since it opened in 1998. Each hole on this lengthy par-71 layout offers a risk-reward opportunity. This thought-provoking course requires careful course management, proper club selection, and sharp short game skills. The large greens are fast and undulating and bunkers are strategically placed throughout. There are also several water hazards that come into play. Not only does each hole offer a unique challenge, they all offer beautiful scenery with a different eye-catching feature on each. Golfers will be sure to encounter some of the abundant wildlife that inhabits the golf course including foxes, gators, hawks and osprey. The club's staff claims that any of the 18 holes could be considered a signature hole.

Charlotte Harbor National
Nice layout. Traps have been re-sanded since the last time I played. However, overall condition of course wasn’t too good. Grass is thin everywhere. Greens very threadbare. Makes for very fast but bumpy putting. Tee time was 11:56 and finished right at 5:00. That’s too long.
Poor Facility for the money
I have not played the course in over two years, and will never play here again unless the cost is under $20.00. The course looked like it had not been watered in months, the conditions of the greens were the worst I have seen in the last 2 months and the 5 other courses I have played. The cart had a container for a sand bucket, but it was gone, so you could not fix your divots, and apparently this has gone on for some time based on the condition of the fairways. The course has a decent layout, and if it was funded, or had a decent greenskeeper, it could be a very good golf course.
This course has character for a Florida course
The course had a lot of variety and character for a Florida course. The greens were fast, irregular shapes and allowed for a number of challenging pin placements. Even though they had a water problem I really didn’t have a bad lie. I will definitely play it again.
Needs Work
Not sure it is worth more than $54 to play during high season, but not much else was available. Greens were hard, so nothing stayed on the greens. When putting the greens were really fast. Fairways had little grass.
Greens Very Good. Sand traps good Rest of the course TERRIBLE I realize that the grass goes dormant, but much of it looked it hadn’t seen water since November
Really not worth want you have to pay!!!
A little dry.
I was told that the irrigation system was being repaired which is good because the course was sry as a bone. Once irrigated back to soft, lush fairways.....five stars for all. The staff was five star and very friendly.
This corse has a great layout, but is not in very good shape.
Good layout, but...
The course is in really rough shape. Fairways hard as can be, and the greens are really beat up. That said. It’s a good layout, just needs maintenance.
Course Condition Disappointing
Always loved the layout. Course conditions have deteriorated to a disappointing condition. Winter rates make this especially difficult to justify playing there.
Hope things turn around. We need great courses!
Poorfairways and greens
This course is over priced based on condition. I would not and will not play it again. Several years ago it was in great shape, they have let it go. Fairways were dirt in many places. Very bad.
