Unacceptable

Greens and fairways are ok. The tee boxes are in dire need of attention. Today there were a couple of guys in carts cutting in front of players ALL over the course, front and back. My guess is they're regulars and the staff lets them do what ever they want...UNACCEPTABLE! I've played this course several times. There is also a league that plays here with the attitude they own the course. Like or dislike, this is an honest review.

Fun golf in Jan ,but vey wet.

Asheville GC was a very wet course when we played Sat. Jan.2,2020. It started cool, but warmed to over 65 degrees. Many players came out to play, so pace of play was somewhat slow, but that was expected. It was a pleasure just to find a course open, get a tee time last minute, and play. Greens were fine and we really enjoyed the day.

Great layout, poor fairway condition.

this is a typical Donald Ross design with great layout no two holes alike and typical undulating greens greens were in relatively good condition for this time of year however the fairways are very thin and takes away from the enjoyment of the course

What was Donald Ross thinking?

Front nine squeezed into a very flat marsh, very unimaginative. Back nine totally different, uphill, downhill, side hill, etc. many blind shots on back nine, with unfair fairways. Nearly impossible to keep balls in the fairways even when you land in the middle! Tee boxes were terrible, fairways were, OK, GREENS WERE VERY GOOD! This was my first and LAST time on this goat farm!

Shabby

It’s sad to see a Donald Ross golf course in such shabby condition. The tee boxes are almost unplayable, and the fairways haven’t seen seed or weed control that’s detectable.

The good news is the greens aren’t nearly as poorly maintained as the rest of the course. In fact, the ball rolls nicely the vast majority of the time.

More bad news: There was no control of the pace of play. Tee times didn’t make any difference; check in, pay and go, off the front or back, at your option. We made the turn and ran into golfers we never saw on the front. One pair told us they saw the front was “jammed up”, so they decided to just “jump on the back”. We left, and won’t go back.

Disappointed

Difficult to find tee boxes especially for my wife. Conditions poor as the course needs some TLC. We chose this course to play as a Pete Dye layout but came away disappointed.

Ok

Greens were bumpy and dry. Course layout was good back was a little challenging. Club house was a little strange because of COVID restrictions but it was ok.
