Scrutiny
Played the course with my son under the covid 19 conditions. Course was temporarily closed due to public scrutiny before reopening after a few days. I was out to play golf with my 9 year old son since that's one of the only things we can do currently, and I was belittled by the starter for being within 6 ft of my son. Yeah, my son that lives in the same household, that rode in the same vehicle I did to get to the course, and the one I take care of. I told him that the restrictions didn't apply to those who lived within the same household, yet I continued to be belittled because he hadn't read that anywhere and was really trying to push for my 9 yr old(of which ya know, doesn't have a license and most courses require a driver's license for any operation of a golf cart due to insurance) to be in a separate cart and to be 6ft away from me. In the end, my son had a good day and enjoyed himself.
Buncombe County Mandatory Closure
Don’t book tee times for Buncombe County courses until further notice. The County closed all courses due to Covid-19 this afternoon but Golf Pass was/is still accepting reservations for them. My reservation was not be honored due to the mandate.

Great Value for the money
I played this course while visiting the area again and thoroughly enjoyed myself. I enjoyed the unique course layout and it provided an enjoyable play once again. Maintenance staff is doing a great job with improving things even from the last time I played here. Looking forward to coming back the best time I am in town.
Good Golf Outing
As municipal golf courses go it's in the middle of the pack. But it's worth The Visit. The front is pretty much wide open but then you make the turn to 10 and it's a completely different course. Worth The Visit and time.

Decent Inexpensive Course
This course isn’t anything spectacular but is exactly what I was expecting. For only $19 this is a fun course especially the front which is very playable and was designed by Donald Ross. The back is a little more interesting as it winds through a hillside neighborhood and has some very unique and borderline goofy holes. Greens rolled very true and were excellent considering, fairways were a little bare and/or muddy in places but the grass was good for December. Overall a decent course for the money and if your expectations are set accordingly can be a very enjoyable round.

You couldn’t pay me to look at this dump again.
If you hate money this is the place for you! If you love lies on straight dirt, this is the place for you. If you wanna stare at where youre going to hit for 15 minutes because bob and joe are in the woods for 10 minutes looking for there ball, this is the place for you. All jokes aside this place is a dump. Neat old layout but is in atrocious condition, no driving range and not even cups on the practice green, im no pro but im also not an idiot. Save your money and go elsewhere.

Back 9 is an embarrassment to management company
The back 9 has been destroyed due to maintenance methods or lack there of...Thursday they were blowing leaves out of woods and tee boxes etc and running a bush hog over the leaves chopping them up...There is nothing in the bare woods to slowdown erosion etc and the hardwood leaves left on fairways will takes years to decompose and will kill grass in fairways...Back 9 tee boxes are basely bare...The back night maintenance is either incompetence or sabotage...A real treasure that is being destroyed...

Good value.
Some maintenance needs as usual. Tee boxes and wet areas are the most obvious.
Front 9 is great
Should have played the front nine twice. Front is in good shape, The back has many bare spots, tee boxes have a lot of dirt.

Goat trail
The usual for the price greens gone... rock hard alot of dirt good for the price tho. But still a goat trail..........
Maintenance
The course needs to be maintained more often The bunkers were hard as a rock and haven’t been raked in awhile. A lot of bare spots around the greens and some really bad spots on the greens. The pin placements on the day I played 10-2-2019 were borderline unfair Cut on sides of hills and 2 paces from the edges. This course needs better management overall.

Excellent golf course, great layout, back nine very challenging. Staff very friendly and goes the extra mile.

Bad back 9
Front side in pretty good shape but back 9 really bad. Pace of play good, staff friendly enough

Polk management doing a poor job with course conditions ..greens puched-runaway
Every August till the end of year the back 9 tee boxes and fairways become awful...Also the greens had been puched and were not flag...shame on Polf management or golfpass...go somewhere else till late spring
