Great course with rough greens
Had a lot of fun on the course but didn’t get a true feel with the rough looking greens on most of the holes. It looked like a flamethrower was taken to them. Other than that, I had a great first experience.

Greens need a lot of work
Most of the greens were borderline unplayable and management still charged full price and made no mention at all. Probably weather related but buyer be ware

Save your money for now
I’ve always been a fan of this track but dang was it rough on Friday 8/12. Main issue (a big one) were the greens. Terrible condition, way over watered with no one repairing their ball marks. For the price they’re charging and the condition of the greens I wouldn’t recommend this course. Once the greens are back in shape I will definitely come back but until then no thank you. On another note regarding the staff: I tried making small talk with the guy at the desk and he acted like I was interrupting his day. He also failed to mention the condition of the course. Overall, disappointed with this course.

Good course, lousy greens
Played this on a busy Sunday . Could be a really good course but a couple of things came up that were a problem:
1. They charge a lot for driving range balls, which is crazy given you're already paying top dollar for a round.
2. The greens are in awful shape - many look like an ATV ran over them, complete with tread marks and dirt instead of grass. It was comical putting on some of them.
Fairways were in really good shape and the course is challenging otherwise. I wish the restaurant was open and that the amenity cart had a full alcohol selection vs beer.
Not sure we will be back - other options available that are the same price and in better shape.

Poor green condidtions
Overall a good layout, although difficult to determine landing area off several tees. Greens were in poor shape with many burnt out areas and as many courses in the area way too many ball marks, a common problem in our area. Club house closed due t any event.

Should have been told about very bad greens with no turf. No mention upon check in and was charged full price

Greens are beat up.

Horrible greens
I’ve played this course a number of times and not been this disappointed in the past. But the round on 8/7/22 was terrible. The pace of play was absurd and no one did anything about it, even though the marshal admitted he knew it. But the worst part of the round was the condition of the greens. Every one was peppered with unrepaired ball marks. There were literally hundreds of them on every green. There were also a couple of greens that had been washed out.
Just when I thought this would be my go-to course, it has gone bad in a big way.

Worst greens in charlotte
The course is 70-90$ on weekends and my buddy and I tried it out for the first time today. I’m not exaggerating when I say these are the worst greens I’ve ever seen around the Charlotte area. Do not waste your money here. The greens on every hole have dead patches and they all need to be redone. A few are beyond bringing back without a complete overhaul. The course layout was nice and challenging with pretty good fairways, but the condition of the greens with the price of the course is just beyond unreasonable. Wouldn’t pay over 40$ for the condition of this course. Stay away until they make some serious changes

Need to refund reservation fee
On August 2nd I made a reservation, but cancelled it to make an earlier tee time. So far Golf Now has charged me two reservation fees of $31.56. The first reservation fee needs to be refunded to my card.

Good course, bad condition
This was my first time playing at Old Syc and had high hopes. Friends that have played before had good things to say and it was a nice drive in. The course layout was fun and there are good looking holes. These were some of the absolute WORST greens I’ve ever played on, especially paying $80 for the round. Many greens had large patches with no grass and dried/cracked ground. Totally unacceptable conditions for greens when you’re charging players $80. Egregious.

Rough greens and confused starter
We have played courses all over NC and always thought Old Sycamore was a prestigious course.. it was a bit of a let-down to play here. It began with a starter that didn't seem to know what course he was on. He told us the flags were the typical red, white or blue. In reality, they were all burgandy. We assumed the smaller yellow flags underneath this showed the pin position, but we never could figure it out. Pace of play was pretty rough. They have a sign on the carts about warnings and possibly being asked to leave for slow pace of play, but nothing changed. The tee boxes and fairways were decent, on this challenging course, but the greens were pretty rough. Dead patches everywhere and rough/dug up spots throughout. The price was great for a Friday afternoon, but we gave better places to play.

Greens were absolutely torched and not in good condition. All shots into the green would hit the surface and immediately stop. No roll out. Bunkers were over fluffy and not well managed. Landed in a few previous footprints. I would be interested to play this course when it has cooled down in the fall. But right now, it is not worth the money I paid.

Horrible Greens
I have played this course a few times and it was always pristine. I don't know what is going on, but today the greens were some of the worst I have ever seen. I would be ashamed to charge more than $20 to play the course with greens in the condition they were in.
