Nice track
This is a tough course. It was really hot out when we played and i would say the course was in need of a good watering as it was extremely dry. It is really challenging and unforgiving. We had a good time but not real.sure it was worth the $90 greens fee, that's a bit pricey.

Fair day of golf
Played the blue tees. From there based on the layout you might use a driver 2-3 times.. if I’d known that I’d played the back tees. The course was in good condition. Don’t think it had rained in at least 2 days but it was soft, especially the greens. One in the group plugged a ball 1/2 deep into an upslope in the green, which isn’t normal. Worst part was my son-in-law tried to help out by taking the cart back to the shed at 7:30 pm and I had left my range finder on the canopy drivers post. It magically disappeared when it couldn’t have went back out, so obviously I’m pretty skeptical of some of the staff. The pro shop did what they could do, so I’m not skeptical of them. It did make a fair day a bad day with no likelihood of me returning to play there again.

Fun course for all skill levels
Madison on the carts was super friendly
The starter was super cool
The greens were slower than they can be, that’s why I gave it 4 stars. It’s not a country club and it is a really fun place to play with challenges for all skill levels. I play a zero handicap and find it easy and challenging at the same time. I’ll go back again.

I have played here many times, but I have never found the course in such good condition.

Great value - Great fun
The course was in great shape except for the bunkers which had not recovered yet from the three inches of rain the two days before. They were packed hard. But, hey, more incentive to stay out of them!
For a Saturday, pace of play was very good. I think we waited on two tee’s on the back and none on the front.

Good Course - weakest part are the greens.
Nice course .. Pretty decent conditions.
Greens are hairy… slow and inconsistent.
If the greens were nice this course would be a really great track.

Beautiful!
I don’t know why this is a 4.1? This place is beautiful! Interesting layout, grooming was excellent and at the price point (I paid senior rates) cannot be beat. Excellent amenities (driving range, chipping and putting areas) I come from north Georgia to stay with a friend for a few days and this is a “must play” every year.

Great course good time
First I got there as an outing was ending, and Charles got me right on the course, gave me great tips on playing it, my 1st time there, and was absolutely awesome to chat with. I enjoyed the course. It was challenging enough but not over bearing even from the tips. My daughter lives in Charlotte and I will play the course whenever I visit her. Risk vs reward holes are great.

Nice Course
I play the course at least 3-4 times a month all year and with the exception of the winter months, the greens always seem hairy and slow.
They need a trim and a little dose of speed

Olde Sycamore provides a predictably good golf experience all the time. Overall, it is among the best public courses in Charlotte.

Nice course but Golf Now reservation messed up
So Old Sycamore contracts with Golf Now for booking tee times. We had a res and arrived to find a shotgun tournament about to start. Apparently there was a communication breakdown between the course and Golf Now. Fortunately, the head pro Charles got us out early on the back nine and we had a nice round. Kudos to the staff that day for their courtesy.
