The Currituck Club
About
The Currituck Club has a Rees Jones-designed layout that stands out from other Outer Banks courses, mostly thanks to its ideal location along the Currituck Sound. The golf course shares the landscape with an abundance of wildlife including deer, osprey, geese, and turtles. Golfers might even catch a glimpse of an eagle soaring overhead. The layout tumbles across rolling sand dunes and combined with the seaside location, the golf course offers a true links feel that is reminiscent of traditional Scottish courses. The diverse coastal terrain is covered with maritime forests and wetlands. The holes are both challenging and scenic, especially the seventh through the ninth, which sit right along the Sound. The golf course also finishes on the Sound with a scenic closing stretch. Playing The Currituck Club right at sundown will provide unrivaled views.

All good but the greens
The tee boxes were worn, but good enough. The fairways and bunkers were great. The greens were pretty bad. All of our puts were bumpy and slow. It is the only course in Corolla, so I guess it gets played hard all summer. My round was in mid august.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We welcome golfer feedback and we will use this review to improve. Please feel free to reach out to the Pro Shop with any additional comments. Thanks again!
Quality
The pace of play was slower than expected. A twosome, supposedly members of the course cut in front of us and two additional groups. There were no rangers on the course to complain to. The quality of the greens and tee boses we're not very good.
We apologize for the pace of play issue you experienced. We always try to keep a great pace when having our golfers on the course. Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback as we will use your review to better the experience going forward. We hope you give us another try in the near future!
Hello and thank you for your 5-star rating! We're delighted you enjoyed your round. Please book another round with us soon, and thanks for choosing The Currituck Club!
Thank you for the awesome rating! We hope to see you again at the course very soon for another great experience, and thanks for choosing The Currituck Club.
Great layout - everything else needs work
Paying $160+ for a round you expect certain things that Currituck Club failed to meet, especially for a morning tee time during peak season. No greeting at the bag drop, no complimentary towels or waters to start. Went to hit range balls and there were none available in the dispenser. Pace of play was average at best and had to wait on most holes. Greens were in rough shape with craters in most of them. It is clear that you are paying for convenience and that’s about it.
The course has a beautiful layout and the tee boxes and fairways were for the most part in great shape. It is a challenging course with demanding tee shots. Not sure if I would play it at that price again.
We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. We are going to pass on your feedback to the team. Thanks for visiting The Currituck Club, and we hope to see you again in the future.
Not worth $130
I know the place is owned by a corporation. They won’t care. If they would put some back into the place, I would change my review. No sand in the greens, ran out of range balls, burned out greens and some unfriendly staff. Being the only game in town. So, ownership won’t do a thing. So they know, spending 5k on range ball will make itself back in a month. The range is closed until 11, due to this disregard.

Nice course the starter is full of it though
We had a good time until that back nine when two beginners were sent to start there. The course was already busy the pace was ok until the starter sent them to cut our foursome. When we began the starter went on and on about singles and doubles are course killers. Then at the end of the day get greedy and send these two slow play lost ball looser to the back nine at 5pm. I called back to the club house and he the starter sounded like he didn’t know nothing.
Hello. Thank you for reviewing the course. We apologize for the delay of play during your round. This is by no means the standard we strive to achieve. We work hard to accommodate everyone who visits our course and to best control pace allowing everyone to finish in a reasonable amount of time. We will continue to look for ways to improve, and we hope to see you again soon.
Pace of play was terrible and there was no rangers out on the course to monitor it.

great day
The course was in fantastic condition. Lots of water to deal with, Loved playing along the sound. We were able to get on early when no one was on the tee which saved us a lot of time. There was a shortage of golf carts.
Thank you for sharing your 5-star experience. We look forward to seeing you again at the course soon! Thanks for choosing The Currituck Club.
Good times
We had a great time playing the course.
We were slowed down on number #10 when the starter let two players cut our foursome.
Thank you for taking the time to review us. Your feedback is valuable, and we'll pass this feedback along to the team here. See you back at the course soon!

Good Course, Slow Ply
Can’t play here any longer (appropriate pun).
You can’t do tee times 6 minutes apart. Been coming here for a number of years, but can’t deal with 5+ hour rounds. Will go off island in the future.
Thank you so much for leaving us with your feedback. We value our customer experience, so your review is important to us. We will make note and we hope to see you back soon.
When you have no other choice…
Currituck has consistently gotten worse each year we come to play. This year (year 5) was the worst. Dirty golf carts with garbage from the last group still in them. Slow play with no help from the ranger after telling them the 3some in front of us were playing slow. Course conditions, see the picture of the 3rd hole Tee box. Most of the Tee boxes are uneven and rutty. I assume they think they have a captive audience but at $150 a round you would think it could be better maintained.

Nice place to play
We stayed in Corolla over the 4th of July week and had 3 4somes on July 6th & 2 4somes on July 8th the course was in good shape and the staff was friendly and accommodating. It was nice to be able to stay on the island for golf and I will do it again next time.
Thank you for visiting us at The Currituck Club. We appreciate your 4-star rating and review. We hope you join us for another round soon.
Beautiful Course, but only if you have all day to play
First, the positive: the course has a great layout. The use of the Currituck Sound to provide winds in all directions, with holes running toward, away from, and along side the sound, offers unique challenges on every hole. There are few easy tee shots, and with bunkers surrounding every green, there are few easy approach shots either. Playing from the black tees offered some picturesque tee shots, requiring drives over some of the ponds / waste areas that make the course so challenging. And the course is in fairly good condition. Some of the greens were roughed up, but the fairways were nice.
However, the nice layout also brings its challenges: the pace of play. After a front nine that took almost 3 hours, two of my playing partners dropped out. It wasn’t until hole 13 that a marshall finally came through saying he had “cleared the log-jam” up ahead. Pace did pick up for a few holes, but by 17, we were once again standing on the tee box for over 5 minutes. At one point, we had four groups on hole 17, a fairly simple 400-yd par four. The 18th, which offered a more challenging tee shot, again had us waiting for over 5 minutes on the tee. … in all, the round took 5 hrs 15 min.
Perhaps if you can play in the low season, the pace would be faster and the round more enjoyable. But it seems that if you go in the summer - even on a weekday - you should plan on investing more than the average time (just as you plan to invest more than the average greens fee).

5 hour round.. but very nice otherwise
Tee times 8 minutes apart and no ranger pushing slow groups on the back nine (we did see one on the front and seemed to help) makes for a long round. We were on pace for a 4.5 hour round which would have been fine until hole 11 when it really slowed down.
The course was in great shape and is very challenging and enjoyable. I will probably be back if I can get an earlier tee time.
Thank you for visiting us at The Currituck Club. We appreciate your 4-star rating and review. We hope you join us for another round soon.
Not worth the money
Our round took over 5 hours to play. They send people off every eight minutes and there’s a back up on every tee, and every shot. The greens were adequate at best. It is a nice layout, and in a good location, but definitely not worth the money.
