About
The Currituck Club has a Rees Jones-designed layout that stands out from other Outer Banks courses, mostly thanks to its ideal location along the Currituck Sound. The golf course shares the landscape with an abundance of wildlife including deer, osprey, geese, and turtles. Golfers might even catch a glimpse of an eagle soaring overhead. The layout tumbles across rolling sand dunes and combined with the seaside location, the golf course offers a true links feel that is reminiscent of traditional Scottish courses. The diverse coastal terrain is covered with maritime forests and wetlands. The holes are both challenging and scenic, especially the seventh through the ninth, which sit right along the Sound. The golf course also finishes on the Sound with a scenic closing stretch. Playing The Currituck Club right at sundown will provide unrivaled views.

Horrible course management
This place is a disaster. Not one staff member has a clue on how to run a course. There were 6 groups waiting over a hour past their tee time because there were not enough carts. Staff were just running around without any idea that this was going to occur. Ranger didn't know if they had pull carts available.
They allow groups of 5, groups of 7 to play together, ridiculous. And with all of this occurring, the pro is out in the middle of the course giving lessons to two novices.
All at $100 a round. Never seen anything like it.

Club Corp has abandonded ship
The headline is that the course is understaffed and undermaintained. The range is terrible (battered, five-year old range balls?) the tee areas declining and few people around to offer any service. It seems obvious that ownership is not putting any revenue back into the course, even though the OBX seem busy this shoulder-season (April 2021). The greens were in decent shape and the fairways passable for early season. This *could* be a nice place for a round were it not for ownership neglect. I saw the high season prices they want in the summer, and if it's for a course like it is right now that would be insane. Hope they get it together.
