Course was in great shape not crwowed made for a quick quiet round on an excellent course

If you're visiting the Outer Banks this is a great course to play. However, it can be very busy and the result is a pace of play that can cause a 4.5 to 5 hours. If you are going to play this course you had batter expect a 5 hour round.

It’s a nicely laid out course but we didn’t enjoy the slow play and greens that weren’t taken care of. To start off, our 2:06 tee time was delayed until 2:26 for some reason. Starter swore that they were still on a 4 hour pace for the rounds. We finished in 4:30 and only because the slow 4some ahead of us finally let us play through at the 15th hole, or it would’ve been a 5 hour round. A ranger stopped us on the 11th tee and told us the group in front of us was 1 and 1/2 holes behind, yet he didn’t tell them to skip the 12th hole to get on pace. Had the rangers done their job and kept the groups up to pace it may have made it a better round. We had been joined on the 3rd hole by a single who had teed off a half hour after us. He finally got frustrated by the slow play and quit after the 15th hole because he had to get back to Kitty Hawk. The greens were in bad shape and needed better care too. They reminded me of greens on an overplayed muni course. They may have been aerated recently, because a lot of putts were bumping the whole way to the cup, but we weren’t told they had been aerated. I fixed at least two ball marks on each green. I expected more from this course than I got and will definitely not play there again during our vacation.

I really enjoyed The Currituck Club. The course isn't the most difficult place I've played, but it was a lot of fun. I did find the front 9 to be more difficult than the back 9. There are several risk/reward holes where if you hit a good tee shot, you can set yourself up for birdie or even eagle. For example, I had short irons into #1 & #16, both par 5's & walked away from #16 with an eagle. The par 5's are very friendly as far as length goes, but to score your best, you can keep your driver in the bag for the most part.

Really enjoyed my round of golf. The layout was fun and enjoyed the risk/reward holes. I think this could be a course you could really score on if you play it a few times.

The staff was great. The course was great. Will play here every year.

The round cost us $150/person. I understand that beach area courses are going to be a little pricey during summer but I also expect the course to be in good condition if i’m going to pay a premium. The greens were the worst offender. They were riddled with ball marks and uneven cut grass with patches of weed grass throughout on some of them. At the end of the round, one of the attendants asked how our round was and I mentioned the shape of the greens. He simply replied that they were a public course and it’s the player’s fault for not fixing their marks. I can understand that to a point but I almost exclusively play public courses and they’re never that bad and they also don’t cost me $150 to play.

Great course Pace of play was horrible through first 8 holes. Rangers sped up the group two ahead of us on 8 and it got better. Was a very frustrating front.

From Tee Box to green you won’t find a better golfing experience on the Outer Banks.
