The Currituck Club has a Rees Jones-designed layout that stands out from other Outer Banks courses, mostly thanks to its ideal location along the Currituck Sound. The golf course shares the landscape with an abundance of wildlife including deer, osprey, geese, and turtles. Golfers might even catch a glimpse of an eagle soaring overhead. The layout tumbles across rolling sand dunes and combined with the seaside location, the golf course offers a true links feel that is reminiscent of traditional Scottish courses. The diverse coastal terrain is covered with maritime forests and wetlands. The holes are both challenging and scenic, especially the seventh through the ninth, which sit right along the Sound. The golf course also finishes on the Sound with a scenic closing stretch. Playing The Currituck Club right at sundown will provide unrivaled views.

Great resort course

Played in a strong wind, making this an extremely difficult time. However the course was still fun to play and with Golf Now price, an extremely good experience. I have played this course on each visit to OBX and will continue that trend.

Very good course and overall experience

Course was manageable and in very good condition - on minus was that the greens had been aerated week before last, but other than that it was a great overall round of golf.

Salt Life

I find it a bit over the top to charge $135 for a round of golf here but if you get a deal it's worth playing. Staff was on point and maintenance was overall good. It's a semi challenging course with just enough forgiveness to cater to the weekend warriors/beginners. I would play again but will not pay more than $80 that's about what it's worth. I still enjoy nags head links and kilmaric more.

Great layout, range & shop

Golfnow had a deal of $80 bucks that couldn't be passed up. Course is always a must play in the OBX. The layout and scenery make the price worthy. The only drawback was the greens were aerated recently which made putting almost impossible. Very bumpy and sandy. In a month the greens will be awesome!

Nothing exceptional about the quality of the course. Good views, average layout , but at the high cost the condition was unacceptable.

I've got to agree. The price they charge for the winter should be the summer rate. It's no more than a $50/$60 course unfortunately they are capitalizing on convenience. Next closest course is at least 1/2 an hour out. At least the staff was friendly.

Playing Currituck Golf Course

On the fourth of September, I played the Currituck Golf Course, the cost to play I thought was little high, but by booking my time with Golf now reduced my rate to an acceptible rate. The course it's self was very nice and the layout was challenging! When the wind kicked up on the back nine made the tract even tougher. Overall you will enjoy the course.

Not Negotiable

I've played the course before and have always walked it. I booked two days, back to back. When I arrived on the first day I asked if I could walk the course. The staff member answered with an attitude and said that walking was reserved for members only. I had a tee time alone and it was not a busy Friday morning from viewing the tee sheet. And it wasn't. When he had such an attitude and would simply not negotiate allowing me to walk, I asked that he cancel my next day. Is that what the members want? Less outside income for no reasonable basis?

Beautiful layout

The course was beautiful!! The only thing I was dissappiinted with was the amount of ball marks on the greens that were not repaired. I understand a lot of tourists play this course but I had a 7:30 tee time and there had to be over 15 ball marks on every green! The staff was very short winded considering the price of this course. I expected them to be more welcoming!

Nice Layout - Poor Conditions

First time playing Currituck and we enjoyed the course - staff was friendly - liked the layout. Course conditions were very poor for the cost of the course.
Bunkers not raked - greens slow and very choppy - tees were spotty - fairways were in very good condition. Very disapointed in the overall condition of the course !!!!

Needs attention

Club Corp is limiting the amount of budget to ensure proper course condition .

Crab grass and deferred maintenance is becoming an issue.

If they did not have a captured market the other area corses are a better value .

Country club feel

This was a very nice course that seemed to be very well run and maintained. There were a number of really nice and memorable holes. The greens were a little slower than I was used to (but that was the same as the other course I played in OBX that was not as nice). The golf carts have a very nice GPS which is great for playing a course for the first time. In my opinion the rack rate of $160 is a little on the high end, but if you are staying in Corrolla or north you will save yourself a lot of time playing and aggravation playing here versus the other courses near or across the bridge. I got a GolfNow rate of $105 for a 12:57 PM tee time, which I think was a great price for the quality.

Course was fun to play. Got a great rate through golfnow. The only down fall was Mother Nature took a toll on the course from the "winter kill." Overall great course and had a great time.

Needs more work

I have played this course for many years and played here the end of May. The course was in poor condition.....bare tee boxes, scruffy conditions around the greens and traps. During my may visit I played other courses in the area that were much better. Although there was improvement this time, the rack rate of 160.00 is out of line. For those who spent that money they deserve pristine conditions.

Excellent vacation outing

Played the course during our annual summer vacation. E weather was great and the course played in 4.5 hours even though we followed a group of casual golfers. Our only come.aint is at the greens were slow but that may have been to prevent he from drying out in the hot weather.

Not worth the cost

The scenery surrounding this course is spectacular. Otherwise, the course is a big disappointment. The tee boxes on the grass driving range is mostly dirt/sand. Otherwise, on the course itself, the tee boxes are in bad shape - lots of weeds. Fairways are mainly in good shape and the greens are above average. Overall, for the price, I expected a course in pristine condition. Better courses are available in this area for half the cost.

Better than last time

Had a great time with our longtime friends. Course was in better shape than the last time we played. Greens in very good shape. Tee boxes still need work. Way way too much dried grass clippings in fairways. Staff is very friendly, very helpful, except beverage cart girl - must have been having a bad day.

Top ranking course at OBX

My only complaint was that the greens were slow but they told me that before the round. However, all putts rolled true. Greens in good condition and accepted shots without skipping off. From tee to green, a pleasure to play. Nothing tricked up. Bunkers had nice soft sand. Carts had excellent large colored GPS displays with yardage map and info to/carry hazards. Beverage cart service (on a Monday afternoon) was much appreciated. It came around 4 to 5 times on a 90+ degree sunny day. I even saw the water coolers being replaced with icy water. This facility has very good service and aims to please the guests.

Definitely a great course in Corolla, but not sure it makes the top 3 list in OBX. Have you tried nags head links or kilmarlic? Pretty sure once you do you'll no longer call this the best. Just being helpful!
