The Currituck Club has a Rees Jones-designed layout that stands out from other Outer Banks courses, mostly thanks to its ideal location along the Currituck Sound. The golf course shares the landscape with an abundance of wildlife including deer, osprey, geese, and turtles. Golfers might even catch a glimpse of an eagle soaring overhead. The layout tumbles across rolling sand dunes and combined with the seaside location, the golf course offers a true links feel that is reminiscent of traditional Scottish courses. The diverse coastal terrain is covered with maritime forests and wetlands. The holes are both challenging and scenic, especially the seventh through the ninth, which sit right along the Sound. The golf course also finishes on the Sound with a scenic closing stretch. Playing The Currituck Club right at sundown will provide unrivaled views.

Better than last time

Had a great time with our longtime friends. Course was in better shape than the last time we played. Greens in very good shape. Tee boxes still need work. Way way too much dried grass clippings in fairways. Staff is very friendly, very helpful, except beverage cart girl - must have been having a bad day.

Top ranking course at OBX

My only complaint was that the greens were slow but they told me that before the round. However, all putts rolled true. Greens in good condition and accepted shots without skipping off. From tee to green, a pleasure to play. Nothing tricked up. Bunkers had nice soft sand. Carts had excellent large colored GPS displays with yardage map and info to/carry hazards. Beverage cart service (on a Monday afternoon) was much appreciated. It came around 4 to 5 times on a 90+ degree sunny day. I even saw the water coolers being replaced with icy water. This facility has very good service and aims to please the guests.

Definitely a great course in Corolla, but not sure it makes the top 3 list in OBX. Have you tried nags head links or kilmarlic? Pretty sure once you do you'll no longer call this the best. Just being helpful!

Early season, rough shape

I have played this course many times and I really like it. It has always been on the pricey side, however. This trip was disappointing, unfortunately.
In early June the course remains in very rough shape, with large dead areas in tee boxes and around the ridges near the greens and bunkers. They blame winter cold damaging the grass, but I wonder about course maintenance. Making matters worse, they had just aerated greens. So it was rough all around.
That didn't impact pricing, however. Paid $110 per player AFTER the GolfNow 19% discount, so felt like we overpaid for a very average or below course.
Staff remained friendly, and the facility is very nice. Hope the course is in better shape in July.

a bit too expensive.

For a fee high like theirs I would have expected something better. Front nines are much better and nicer than back nines. Greens were in good condition.

Disappointment

The greens were being air rated so we had to play the front nine twice the greens were bad and the play rate was very slow the second time through
Also the prices for soft drinks and snacks was extreemly high $3.75 for gaterade

Needs some TLC

I have played this course many Times and the conditions have gone down hill. Tee boxes were bare on many holes, area around the greens shaggy and brown spots on all fairways.

Ease of play

The course was in great shape. Thanks to them for doing golf now and hot tee times. The grill is great too but this time we opted for cold beverages from their great draft choices. The staff was great and beat the pro on a par 3 was great. The pro Shaun was great and he had to use a 4 iron versus our own club choice. Easiest double my money I ever made. Thanks Currituck Club. I will always come back

Great scenery-poor value

I have been playing Currituck since it first opened. Since opening day the course prices have kept rising rapidly. It is a considerable drive to any other good course and I feel this is the only reason they can charge their exorbitant greens fees. If it wasn't for GOLFNOW, I would not play. The condition of the course does not warrant the cost.

Challenging Course

Course is in great shape for early spring. Weather was cool and sunny. Greens were fast, fairways were wide and forgiving, plenty of sand traps to play at the beach and water only came into play on a few holes. Worth the trip to play this great course. Overall, this was an excellent Hot Deals buy on GolfNow.

Beautiful Course when full course open

Course was being aerated so only 9 holes open. First real nice day of weather so after first 9 played same 9 again. Behind very slow players but nowhere to go.
Still enjoyed the day

Winter Currituck Club

The ratings could have been higher except for the time of the year. Because of the harsh winter the greens were not cut and the fairways have not yet began to grow in. Even though there were few players on the course we had a single pushing behind us and a twosome behind him. A foursome was walking ahead of us. When we finished the grill was closed and it was only 4:15 in the afternoon.

Pace of Play

We started at 12:55 so only had a little over 4 hours to finish. It took 2:20 to play the first nine and it was getting slower hole by hole. We played the first nine over agin and just finished by 5:00. Never saw a marshal and on one seemed to have any sense of urgency to keep up the pace so those behind could finish 18. The course was in good shape and the greens were fair and true. Overall, a very pleasant day except for the slow play and no marshal.

Terrific Soundside course in OBX

Got a GolfNow Hot Deal rate of $35 to play the course, a considerable discount from the regular rate. It turned out to be an incredible bargain. This is a terrific course with a great layout and outstanding conditions. The degree of difficulty was challenging enough for above average golfers while still being playable for high handicappers.

They closed the bar on us!

4 couples traveled a couple of hundred miles to play here and another course on the Outer Banks. Currituck was a very scenic venue. We totally enjoyed ourselves and the weather was perfect. Quite a mix of hole set ups and luckily the wind was with us on more than half the holes. The greens were a little bumpy but putted reasonably true. Our biggest gripe was that the bar closed by 5:30 so we weren't able to enjoy a beer after the round to congratulate the winners. What course closes the bar with players still out on the course?

Nice Track

Currituck was a nice track with lots of different and interesting looks from the tee box. Greens were in OK shape - fast, but a little lumpy...
