You get what you pay for
We played on a Sunday so expected a slower than normal pace of play but they were allowing several groups of 5 and 6 to play together. Also there is one guy working and no Marshall so there you go. The greens are in poor shape to the point you are left with no chance to putt through the craters on the green so you just move your ball and putt it out. If you’re one of those people that are strictly by the rules of golf then this place isn’t for you.
Baywood Making a Comeback
It is great to see my homecourse Baywood in this great of shape. Well Done Baywood Staff.
Course looking alot better.
Didnt know it was cart path only today, no one said anything.
Had way to many slow groups
Waited every hole for 9 holes
Excellent deal
Good a last minute deal the night before. Went promptly at tee time. Sand bunkers are a problem in the area because I’m of driving rain packing them down. At Baywood the bunkers were a problem because the was too good and I’m apparently out practice hitting from fluffy sand. There were some bare areas in the rough, but fairways and greens were fine; greens rolled smoothly. Went out as single, so kept catching up to groups that went out of their way to let through. 2:20 round on a unfamiliar course. Thoroughly enjoyable round.
Improving
The greens are in better shape than they have been in a while. Still could use some tending, but playable. Most of the facilities are closed due to pandemic, so I can't evaluate those. Not sure why there is no practice putting green.
I booked a special rate, so it was definitely worth the price.
best condition in years. fairways and greens were great.
Fun course
Baywood is a great “feel good” course. The blue tees are a great distance for the average player and the layout is fun. The greens/tee boxes could use a little work, but for $25 it’s an awesome course
Fair
We decided to play here because we knew it would be dry after the storm came through. It was packed and really slow (5hours). The ranger should have been out speeding up the groups ahead or allowing us to play through. Greens were ok and course in pretty good shape. I will go back.
