Won't be back
This is about the 4th or 5th time I have played this course, and it will probably be the last. My daughter lives in Fayetteville and I come to visit once every year or two. This course was in absolutely terrible shape, the worst I have ever seen it. I was so greatly disappointed I will probably not come back. It was that bad. Bald spots everywhere, weeds in the "fairways", and the absolute worst greens I have ever putted on. No such thing as a true roll here. My advise is to go to Keith Hills or Cypress Lakes for about the same price but much better conditions.
This course was in bad shape
The pro shop opened after my tee time, the greens were so bad the ball was bouncing all over and you couldn’t tell the green apart from the fringe. I would not play here again.
Price can’t be beat, course has a laid back attitude but will test your game. Greens need work
As others have already stated, the price for baywood can’t be beat and it’s a very “ welcoming “‘place to come play. You never feel pressured or that your not supposed to be doing this or that, it’s very laid back and you feel as if you can just have a stress free round of golf.
That doesn’t mean the course is just a walk in the park though! Baywood does test all parts of your game. From having to hit a good tee shot, to hitting a good iron into the green, most holes have bunkers so you have to be precise. One thing I do love is none of the holes are really “ long “... two par fives in particular are decent length but you could easily be on in three or even two if your a long hitter.
Nice community, great price.
I played here for a second time and it was solid again. The pace was fast, the course was good for November, and the price was excellent!
Terrible condition and staff.
I have played this course numerous times. This happened to be the worst time I have ever played at this course. The staff was late arriving and the course was in terrible condition. I was sad that I brought three players to this course from out of town. I will avoid this course next year.
Terrible Management
Terrible management. Upon my foursome arrival to the course at 0715 hours there were already about ten players waiting around for the place to open. Someone stated maybe someone will be here at 0730 hours. Some players walked down the driver range and recovered balls to hit while they waited. Others went to the putting green to get disappointed about it’s conditions. What top off a terrible course was when we got to the first green, which had been recently aerated without our knowledge. I will never play this course again.
Challenging course just need some rain
Challenging course with narrow fairways, lots of water and fast firm greens. Downside the course needs rain badly. Greens do have some ruff spots and some are better than others. Hole location are on the better side of the greens so keep it close. You can tell it hasn’t rain much since all the water hazards are way low. Fairways are cut but burnt due to lack of rain. They have a few tee boxes closed to regrow them. Overall for the rate you pay it’s worth a try.
Putting a real challenge
Overall the coarse was in good shape. The greens however still need a lot of work. I found many of the greens patchy with good grass mixed in with no grass. I also found the greens to be inconsistent with speed although most of them were extremely slow. One final thing about the greens, the area around the cup was loaded with indents, making a slow putts turn drastically around the pin.
All that being said, I enjoyed my round and will return.
Great course for the value
This certainly isn’t the nicest course you’ll ever play on but there’s plenty of bang for your buck. Played a full 18 for 12$ the other day, including cart! Can’t beat that. The real issue at the moment is the greens. The greens need some work, there’s some holes you’ll be putting from the sand ON THE green and it’s quite ridiculous. Overall though, I enjoy the course, I’m sure you would too.
Greens need work
The greens were in very rough shape. This is a pleasant course that goes through a quiet golf community. If they can improve their greens, this would be a much better course.
Cheap course
The staff is very very friendly but the course itself is absolutely terrible. The greens were in terrible shape and the grass is still very dead. If you’re looking to just hit get outside for a little with a club, it’s fine but don’t take this course serious.
Very Bad
Good layout with water in play on many holes. The greens however were bare in spots with lots of poa anna tufts that made putting a guess at best. It appeared that they had not been mowed for several days and this was on a Sunday!
