This course needs some work. Very nice community to have a less than average golf course. I would think about moving there if the course was better.
Baywood 6th Round
Rain! Wet! We were the only ones on the course. Pace was great but wet with increasing rain. Water was not standing on the course nor was there areas of extremely wet soil. The value is there in playing Baywood.
Anyone want to buy a golf course?
While the price seemed great, we thought we would try it out. Drove an hour to get there. Driving through the sub-division to get to the course we nice. Homes LARGE and well maintained gave us a nice a comfort feeling about the golf course.
However, when we arrived and saw the putting green, we thought oh brother. The putting green was in desperate need of weed killer, fertilizer, and grass. But we thought maybe this isn't the representation of the greens on the course.
Off to the first tee. Tee boxes were in need of maintenance. Fairways were okay in areas and the greens had weeds throughout and some areas of the greens weren't there.
Come to find out afterwards the course is up for sale. Anyone want to buy a golf course?
Great Course and layout
Great price if you have golfnowPlus bargins. Other wise the price is slightly high for the condition the greens are in.
Women's tee boxes are longer distance for what I am used to. Still Loved the layout and difficulty.
Pleasantly surpised
Great value. Got an early tee time and played 18 in 2.5 hrs! Lots of water and narrow fairways, which I like. Greens were in really good shape. My only complaint is the lack of signage from one tee to the next. If you are new to the course, ask where holes 1 and 10 are before you start. I literally had to stop a car in the neighborhood to ask where hole 10 was after finishing the front nine.
Get what you pay for
Greens were horrible! The tee boxes for ladies are not fairly placed or well kept! The rest of the course was playable. A bit challenging on a few holes, that was nice.
Baywood 6th round
Baywood is a fairly flat course with varying width fairways. I can be challenging for average golfers and is more challenging from the blue and gold tees. Fairways are well watered and have nice roughs. Traps are wet and hard generally not raked. Greens are in fair to good shape, with some undulation. They can be very large. Fun to play.
Course in best shape this year.Fairways and greens great.
I’ve seen worse
The course was in better shape than before. Greens weren’t so bad and pace of play was really good. Do recommend and plan on going back!
Horrible Course Conditions
To start, the tee boxes weren’t mowed and had huge bare spots. Hard packed sand. Most holes I had trouble finding a place to tee up. The fairways and 1st cut were in good shape. The greens, terrible. Hole 6 I believe, par 3, has a enormous dead spot. Most greens have dead spots and/or ant hills. Putting was like watching your ball roll down a high with speed bumps.
Speaking with another golfer, I was told that the owners have been scaling back on the care and upkeep of the course. Whether that’s true or not, the course definitely needs work. Would not recommend unless it’s your last option to get on the course.
Baywood 6th round
This is a well set up, flat course offering a challenge to the average golfer. Two over the water driving holes are fun. The course condition is good but could be improved. Course management is working on it. Greens are spotty in parts - plugging to be done next week will help. I will definitely play again.
Bad Condition — Interesting Layout
This course was not in good condition.
Thin and patchy fairways, potted and sand greens, torn tee boxes.
The layout of the course was interesting, and would have been good if the condition was better.
The practice green was non existent. Half was ripped apart and roped off, while the other half was more sand and ant hills than grass. Small driving range off the grass was also present in ok shape.
Baywood 3rd round
Course continued draining and presented itself with less soggy areas. Greens are in fair shape but still with size are challenging as is the course.. I walked and was still able to stay ahead of the trailing group until the 14th hole.
Greens are incredible
Without question the fastest greens I have played, props to the staff. Should host a US Open qualifier in the near future.
Baywood 2nd round
My second time this week. The course drained quickly from earlier deluge. Shots bounced further. Fairways are in great shape. Greens need TLC although they are true and fast. Very nice, forgiving layout allows duffers like me to hit without claustrophobia or fear of out of bounds. Amenities are in short supply, understanding due to COVID-19 and summer season. Workers are eager to converse, setting up course for a great time.
A wet one
Given the rain of late, the course is extremely wet however the fairways are challenging in their openness. A good course for golfers who want an open fairway to pound it out. Greens are patchy without much slope but sizable and challenging even in wet conditions. Club-houae ameniities need improving (thanks COVID-19) but friendly and helpful staff make up for this shortcoming. All in all a course, not all unchallenging, with a few nifty turns and opportunities for lower scores.
Worst greens
One of the worst greens I’ve ever played on. Only paid 15$ for 18 holes so I’m not that upset but I played this course about a year ago and the up keep went down the toilet.
