Not Particularly Memorable
Despite the review from the grumpy old guys who complained about having to tuck their shirts in at the course, we decided to give this course a try. It was enjoyable, staff was extremely friendly. Can’t say it was particularly memorable, and because of that, we considered it to be a bit pricey, even with a Hot Deal. Conditions were fair, some patchy areas but overall not bad.
We did have tucked in shirts, by the way.
Wachesaw East
I played Wachesaw East (Formerly known as Wachesaw Plantation East) with three friends on 03/27/2026. This course runs through the community at times, but it is still gorgeous with the Spanish moss hanging from the trees, water surrounding a fair amount of the holes. The entire course was visually appealing, and you very seldom see another hole on the course. The rough was still dormant which gave an interesting contrast with the deep green of the fairway. The course was in excellent shape and while not overly fast the greens rolled true. Apparently, the LPGA played some tournaments here awhile back. The entire staff from the bag drop to the restaurant, to the pro shop were extremely nice and professional. This was my first time playing and I would definitely come back.
Great course
The course was nice and played well, started on back nine a busy day. Played a good pace wice Ohio players. A nice round.
Nice Course
The course had lots of water and somewhat narrow fairways. However, I really liked the layout and it had some challenging holes. Make sure to preview each hole before playing because a few holes had water or a hazard in front of the green.
Wachessaw
Great layout, course a little wet following storm on Sunday. Great course overall!
Good layout but has some shortcomings
Pace of play was awful. There was a super slow group that bottlenecked a whole side. The ranger finally showed up on 17 and argued with us that there were no open holes in front of them. The problem was we could see there was and even went ahead to make certain. The grounds crew is clearly understaffed and they are working hard. The conditioning is probably on par with what they have to work with. Not a fan of the greens. Layout is cool and has some challenges but also some gettable holes.
