Willbrook Plantation Golf Club

I arrived in the MB / Pawleys area 3 days before playing this course and had no rain, yet the course was in terrible shape from water damage. The fairways were being mowed while we played for the first time in obviously almost a week, leaving clumps of clippings with o effort to blow them away. Deep water was standing in the bunkers which also had significant ruts. While they are not expected to control Mother Nature, they can at least compensate the players willing to still play it in that condition. No warnings or discounts were ever offered.

Challenging but fair, and genuinely enjoyable. Generous fairways keep you in play, so the real test is a smart second shot into large, undulating greens. Water touches 15 of 18 holes, but it's more scenic backdrop than scorecard wrecker. Add in centuries-old oaks draped in Spanish moss and historic markers throughout the property, plus excellent conditions and friendly, professional staff, and you've got a round worth returning to.

Course was nice. Greens are really slow. Course in great condition.

Dirt patches in the fairways. Fairways were not clean cut grass was everywhere. Bunkers had weeds in them. Greens were patchy. Other courses had way better management for the price.

First time playing here. Staff super friendly. Course layout and conditions were great.

Course was in great condition, the staff welcoming and pace of play was excellent! Must play when in the area, also a plus is being out of the Myrtle Beach traffic, especially when staying in Murrells Inlet or Pawleys Island!

Overall the course is in good shape. The clubhouse currently has some ongoing renovations. A few of the tee boxes need attention (burnt), but the greens rolled well. Inside Staff was friendly, the Starters ran a tight ship, and the Marshall's made sure the pace of play was managed.

Would certainly play here again.

The whole course was in magnificent shape, greens was firm and fast. Highly recommend this course to anyone!

I played Willbrook Plantation with three friends on 03/25/2026. Although the course runs through the community at times, it is still gorgeous with the Spanish moss hanging from the trees, water surrounding a fair amount of the holes. You should take time to read the historical plaques teaching you about the significance of the land you are playing. The rough was still dormant which gave an interesting contrast with the deep green of the fairway. The course was in excellent shape and while not overly fast the greens rolled true. The entire staff from the bag drop to the restaurant, to the pro shop were extremely nice and professional. This was my first time playing and I would definitely come back.

The course layout is tough. It is absolutely beautiful. The place is well maintained!! And the people who worked there were awesome!! Loved it!!

Enjoyable round of golf! Conditions were excellent for this time of the year. There’s alot of natural beauty on this course with the layout and several holes with mature cypress/oak trees lining the fairways. The pro shop is being remodeled, but the course was fully staffed with beverage cart service/rangers/outside services. I would love to see this course in season. I would play it again for sure.
