About
Designed by Lloyd Clifton, Westchase winds through acres of lakes, conservation areas and forest. It offers manicured greens surrounded by natural wetlands, wooden bridges and bulkheads. With its 9,500 sq. ft. clubhouse, full-service dining room, and fully stocked pro shop, Westchase offers a country club atmosphere along with first-class service. The golf club has established itself as one of Tampa Bay's best upscale golf facilities. The front nine meander through an impressive pine forest. The back nine -- which is demanding on the tee shot -- features lakes, wetlands and cypress. Strategically placed bunkers, more sparkling lakes and stands of cypress, oak, palmetto and pine frame the fairways and greens. Signature Hole No. 3, at 212 yards from the back tee, is all you can handle -- It's a Par 3 all-carry over water from the back tee!

Great staff
Always treated with respect. Course is in remarkable condition. Water dispenser filled and cold and cart services present 3-4 times per round.
Great course
Second time played here and course in great shape again. A couple of dry tee boxes but greens were in great. In a nice residential community and lots of greenery. Got a good deal on GolfNow.
Bit pricey
We played this course around 1030 on a Wednesday. The wind was blowing about 30 mph steadily so we chose to play up a tee box. Probably should have played the mixed tees because some of the fairways we could hit through. Greens were good shape and plenty of grass on the fairways for this time of year. $121 was a bit more than it was worth, $75 $80 should have been rate.
Fun but demanding
Came down from the Northeast after a 4 month winter hibernation to play a week of golf in Tampa area. It was 20+ years since I played here last and I forgot what a good test of golf it is. Should’ve probably played it later in the week instead of day one. Very friendly staff and good layout. Greens and fairways were in decent shape considering the lack of rain and cold weather they have been having. Pace of play was excellent.
BE CAREFULL
course has a very good layout and challenging holes. gps would help if on cart. fairways were fair if you found grass. terrible greens. bumpy, slow. would have to think twice if I were to play again

Love the Ohio State Buckeyes theme. We all enjoyed it ..
Nice layout
Nice place to play a little wet in places believe it or not. Greens were slow but not too bad. Conditions were fair to good.
Course Closed
Course shut down the entire day due to rain at 9-10pm the night before tee time. No notification. Terrible mismanagement of tee times.
Won't be back for a while.

Dried out fairways
Finished in 4.5 hours but seemed to wait on every hole. No rangers for pace of play. Most courses in this area are burnt out due to no rain so can't hold that against them. Greens ran true. Love the layout more water that most courses. Nice staff.
Interesting course with poor conditions for the price
Went to play Westchase with a group recently. Pro shop and bar were good. Starter was nice. Layout of the course was solid.
But for $125, the conditions at this course were just awful. Tee boxes were terrible. Fairways were more a $60 course condition rather than $125. Greens were generally in good shape and fast, but somewhat inconsistent and not manicured enough for the price. When combined with things like no range balls included and no cooler on pretty average carts, it was just clear that management is not investing in the course.
Overall, I can’t really recommend Westchase versus other options in the area.
Progress review
I am a regular at Westchase, because it is one of the nicest courses near downtown Tampa, even if it is not the easiest one. Some holes are hard, especially if you are not a long hitter, i.e. #9.
The greens are good and fair even if they show divots marks. They have done a lot of work recently to fix accidentally damaged greens.
Fairways are excellent with regular grass.
They have done a lot of work on the bunkers which had irrigation issues in the past.
A few tee box need some work.
The staff is wonderful.
