About
The course at the Wedgefield Golf & Country Club, although suitable for all golfers, is most appropriate for intermediate players. The affordably priced Wedgefield Golf Club used to be known as Rocket City and Cape Orlando. The course has a classic-Florida style layout with medium sized greens that are guarded by bunkers and fairways lined with cypress trees. There is water on the golf course but it is not a significant factor in the game. However, there is one hole, the par-3 sixth hole that is surrounded on three sides by water. Wedgefield Golf & Country Club, in addition to the course, has a chipping area and putting green as well as a golf school.

Golfer Reviews
Central Florida Local
Tee boxes all in great shape level with grass. Fairways all have lots of grass no weeds. Greens are thick with grass no bare spots or any weeds but slooow
Lots of changes since last time I played
It’s been over a year since I last played here because I did not particularly like how the course was maintained. The greens and fairways were all in bad shape. I’ve always loved the layout of this course and decided to give it another try. I was very happy that I did. The staff is very friendly, the course is in pretty good condition, the greens were very nice to putt on and soft but not slow.
We did have some issues because they had just laid a bunch of sand over the greens but by hole 13 they were sweeping the sand off of them and we finally got to see how the greens were actually in good condition. I wish they had a 19th hole because I do love an ice cold draft beer after a round of golf but they don’t have a bar or restaurant at all. The 3 of us played in 3 hours and 29 minutes. Definitely give this course another chance if it’s been over a year and you won’t be let down.
Diamond in the rough
One year ago I wouldn't give you a plug nickel for the course. I was very impressed with the condition of the greens and fairways. They had just sanded the greens from punching them. The last few greens had been drug and were great but you could tell they were all in great shape. The bald patches are gone and the sandy fairways are gone. Bar and grill are gone but plenty of ice and beverages at the turn. Maybe one day it will be back. Give the course manager a raise.
Solid Course When Dry
The wet conditions took away a little of the experience but overall, it's a nice track. Good putting and chipping areas. Couldn't tell if there was a driving range. As a single, I played the front 9 very quickly (under 1.5 hrs). But by the 12th hole it started getting backed up. 3 groups on 12 and two on 13. I ended up playing 12 twice and then went back to play 10-12 and 8 & 9, before calling it a day in the 100 deg heat. Overall, good value for the course. About 25-35 min from theme park areas.
Great Shape
At this moment this course is one of the best in the Orlando with respect to course conditions especially considering the dry weather. The greens are exceptionally good. This course has really improved in the last 18 months.
Great Course for the price!
Wedgefield is in great condition. The staff is always friendly and it’s very reasonably priced. Bring plenty of water as there is none on the course nor a cart girl. Overall I really enjoy the course!!!
Great Course at a Great Value
One of the better courses I have played in the central Florida area at a very reasonable price. It started to rain when I was on the 16th hole and I noticed that there were no drainage issues at all (no sitting water anywhere on the last 3 holes, cart path, or greens).
Will definitely play at Wedgefield again and most likely it will be one of my 2 go to courses in the area.
Fun Course
Had a great day even though we were under a heat advisory with a feel like temperature of 105!
