Stoneybrook East Golf Course
About
Located in Central Florida, Stoneybrook East Golf Course is a championship course that has all the signatures of classic Florida golf courses. Although traditional in design there are some modern elements that lend to the overall challenge of the course. The large fairways are naturally tree-lined and the generous greens are multi-tiered and undulating. The green are also immaculately kept. Preserved wetlands and waterways create hazards that come into play on a few holes. There is also abundant wildlife on the course. Stoneybrook East Golf Course features three sets of tees.

Golfer Reviews
Great layout but...
Stoneybrook East had done some much to get the course conditions back to very good standards over the last couple of years. Not sure what happened the last few months but the conditions (other than the greens) have changed for the bad since the last time I played it earlier this year. Fairways, tee boxes, and rough are in need of some major attention that I am sure that staff is going to address being that it is a desirable course in a great location.
Side note: Really wish the course would join the GHIN system.
Better than it’s reputation
The course is in good shape with some fun holes. 8, 11, 16, 17 &18 are my faves.
M-T morning staff is great. Friday AM could use a lesson in manners, but hey. Some “members” can be entitled so don’t be surprised if suddenly someone shows up in front of you out of nowhere.
Pro shop has good stuff and grounds crew works hard.
But no USG rating so your scores don’t matter.
Fun course.
Great improvements
They did a great job getting the course back. Water on every hole gets the mind going.
Well Worth It
Course was in excellent shape. Don't know why it wasn't getting a lot of play. It is a challenging course, but fun to play.
Rude, No Bev Cart, Boring, Bad Shape but cheap!
Starter is rude, have a policy of no outside drinks including water and Gatorade but do not have a beverage cart or vending machines. Starter refused to let us bring in waters and Gatorades even though we were worried about the heat, very rude about it. Tee boxes, greens and fairways had crab grass, manageable to play w on tee boxes and fairways but the greens made it impossible on some holes. It is affordable compared to nearby courses though.
Good course
First time and I thought the course was in very good condition. Fairways were good and greens were quick
Dangerous policies, poor conditions but affordable
This was my first time playing this course, and unfortunately, it started on a very negative note.
While I was loading my golf cart, the starter hurried over and immediately confronted me about having a small insulated Nike cooler (it holds about four cans and is smaller than most lunchboxes). Instead of a friendly conversation, he got right in my face asking if I had really tried to bring a cooler onto the course. I explained that it only contained water and Gatorade because Florida summers are extremely hot, and you never know when—or if—the beverage cart will come around.
Rather than explaining the course's policy, I was simply told they don't allow any outside drinks and that I could buy ice and beverages there. At no point was I informed that there isn't actually a beverage cart on the course, nor that there are no ice machines or vending machines available once you're out playing. I mentioned that relying solely on the cart's built-in cooler seemed unsafe given the summer heat, especially for players trying to stay hydrated.
When I opened the cart cooler, I found a moldy, half-eaten banana sitting in dirty water from the previous group. I pointed it out, and the starter simply walked away. I ended up cleaning the cooler myself before putting our water bottles in it.
I'm very glad I did because the two young men we were paired with were already complaining of dehydration and the lack of access to drinks early in the round. While we were waiting on the first tee, the same starter pointed to my insulated tumbler and said, "Next time, just put your drink in that." I honestly wasn't sure what he expected was already in it—it contained a drink.
I've played hundreds of golf courses, and only one other has ever mentioned my cooler. Their policy was simple: water and sports drinks were perfectly fine; they just didn't allow outside alcohol. That seems like a much more reasonable and safety-conscious approach.
As someone with a medical condition that makes me more susceptible to heat-related illness, I take hydration seriously. In Florida's summer heat, I genuinely worry that denying players reasonable access to their own water or electrolyte drinks could create a dangerous situation. The clubhouse isn't conveniently accessible during the round, and not everyone can rely on purchasing drinks if there are limited opportunities to do so.
As for the course itself, it reflects its lower price point. The white and red tees didn't match the scorecard distances and were often nearly the same tee box. Many tee boxes were uneven and covered in crabgrass. There was standing water in numerous bunkers around the greens and throughout the course, the sand was hard, and there were large patches of weeds on many greens.
Overall, I'd say the course is priced appropriately for its current conditions. However, the customer service experience and the hydration policy were the biggest disappointments and are what would keep me from returning.
A SERIOUS DANGER TO GOLFERS
First time here-While I was loading my golf cart, the starter hurried over and immediately confronted me about having a small insulated Nike cooler (it holds about four cans and is smaller than most lunchboxes). Instead of a friendly conversation, he got confrontational asking if I had really tried to bring a cooler into the course. I explained that it was for water and gatorades because fl summers are extremely hot, and you never know when/if the beverage cart will come around. He just kept repeating no coolers or any drinks even water and that I could buy ice and drinks from “her”(no idea who her is I assumed bartender or something). At no point was I informed that there actually is never a beverage cart on the course, and no ice machines or vending machines available once you're out playing so you can’t bring or have drinks On the course at all but the only place to get drinks is inside the clubhouse at the bar. I mentioned that relying on the cart coolers seemed unsafe given the summer heat, especially for players trying to stay hydrated.
When I opened the cart cooler, I found a moldy, half-eaten banana sitting in dirty water from the previous group. I pointed it out, and the starter simply walked away. I ended up cleaning the cooler myself before proceeding to still put our water bottles in it. (I didn’t plan to take 20 extra mins to have to shuttle ice and drinks to my cart from the bar so sorry I still put my own drinks in the cooler)
I'm very glad I did because the two young men we were paired with were already complaining of dehydration and the lack of access to drinks early in the round. While we were waiting on the first tee, the same starter pointed to my insulated tumbler and said, "Next time, just put your drink in that." Brilliant really wish I would have thought to use my cup for drinks I’ve been using it to hold the souls of nasty starters this whole time but a drink seems much more effective of a cup use.
I've played hundreds of golf courses, and only one other has ever mentioned my cooler.-falcons fire- Their policy was simple: water and sports drinks were perfectly fine; they just didn't allow outside alcohol. That seems like a much more reasonable and safety conscious approach.
In Florida's summer heat, I genuinely worry that denying players reasonable access to their own water/ dietary basic needs could create a dangerous situation. The clubhouse isn't conveniently accessible during the round, and not everyone can rely on purchasing drinks if there are limited opportunities to do so.
As for the course itself, it reflects its lower price point. The white and red tees didn't match the scorecard distances and were often very close to the same distance. Many tee boxes were uneven and covered in crabgrass. There was standing water in numerous bunkers, around the greens, and throughout the course, the sand was hard, and there were large patches of weeds on many greens.
But the price does match the current condition at ann affordable price especially compared to other courses in the area. However, the customer service experience/ drink policy were the biggest red flags that I really hope other golfers are aware of before something devastating results of it.
Other info: Very littler shade in course, course layout 6/10 I’ve seen a couple worse but majority of courses are better designed, No range/map screen in carts but also no gps limiter which helps pace of play and convenience.
Better than most, better than most.
Greens are great. Bunkers and fairways were a bit wet from overnight rain, but this course is well maintained with healthy grass on every fairway. It’s somewhat weedy in spots but the good grass well outweighs the weeds.
Some difficult holes, but if you play the right tees, a lot of fun. Very good value.
They have done a lot to improve the course. The updated clubhouse is nice as well.
Great course
Course is in great shape, actually has grass on it unlike many courses in the area. Keep up the good work.
Fun day
Played the course while on some vacation time visiting Orlando, pleasantly surprised with this course. Great layout and plenty of length and challenges. Keep in mind there is some work being done “off-season projects” but the course was very good overall. Look forward to playing again when I’m back in the area. Highly recommend playing here.
Gets Better All The Time
The course is in really good shape.
Not perfect but good enough for my play.
