Oak Hollow Golf Course
About
Oak Hollow Golf Course is one of two municipally owned golf courses in High Point, N.C. This Pete Dye design is the newer and more popular of the two. The layout features several Dye signatures including pot bunkers and railroad ties but it's the small, undulating greens that are the most recognizable Dye trademark. The golf course has an interesting mix of holes, including several risk-reward opportunities. It's a course that will make you think, rewarding strategy and accuracy over might. The signature hole is the par-4 sixth. This 420-yard hole wraps around a lake with an island tee at the tips that will test the brave. Oak Hollow's toughest hole, though, is the 437-yard 11th, also a par 4. You'll need a perfectly placed tee shot and then after you're met with a triple-tiered green that sits along the water's edge.

Perfect Day Photo submitted by Zippy0058 on 10/17/2016
For the money, not close to worth it.
I’ve played oak hallow before, not in awhile though. The people working there are old men who just want to push people through. They have two men making sure everyone is hitting their tee time. Is that valid? Absolutely. But they’ll come over and yell group names while people are practice on the range or putting. The people inside the office are rude and don’t care about anyone, just there to take money and push people through. Their pace of play standards are ridiculous.
I HAD to play with 3 others. If I play by myself on 18 I’ll get done less than three hours. I played for FIVE hours because they made me stay with the group of 3. No course has ever, and I mean ever made me stay with 3 others who were at least 40 years older than me.
I don’t like their attitudes or their constant breathing down your throat while you’re playing. If you’re going to do that than let me play single and you yell at the older people who take forever playing.
Rainy Day
Although it rained off and on, I was able to continue play and the course didn’t hold water. Beautiful course, great staff and good burgers!! I’ll definitely be back. Got in 36 holes, no one else crazy enough to play I the rain so play was fast!!
Great weather, excellent conditions, friendly staff, superb value
Oak Hollow delivered another outstanding golf experience.
Walking 18 holes at senior rate of $13 was a great value.
The staff is always helpful, friendly, and professional.
Conditions are excellent from tee to green. Putts roll true and consistent. Improvement on the mounding leading up to the green at #4 creates more fairness to that hole.
My playing partners were terrific, making for an enjoyable round.
I had 3 pars on the front nine, hitting some good shots.
Pace of play was at 4 1/2 hours, with a packed course for a weekday.
For scenery, challenge, value, excellent playing conditions, and friendly staff, Oak Hollow is a top municipal golf course.
I highly recommend Oak Hollow.
Great weather, excellent conditions, friendly staff, superb value
Oak Hollow provided another outstanding golf experience yesterday.
I walked 18 holes at senior rate for $14, a great value and excellent exercise.
The staff is always friendly. Rick booked my time and checked me in. He is always helpful, friendly, and professional.
Grill shop staff member John is friendly. I had my Arnold Palmer (unsweet iced tea and lemonade).
Course conditions are excellent from tee to green. The greens are rolling smooth and slow. I missed a few chips, which on a Pete Dye course (the only municipal course he designed), will roll back to your feet.
Made 2 pars, both with sinking 8 foot putts, on holes # 3 and 5. A testament to smoother greens.
Pace of play was great, 3 1/2 hours for 18 holes as a single player.
I highly recommend Oak Hollow as a top municipal local course. Great value, scenery, friendly staff, combined with excellent playing conditions.
Love the front, the back hates me!
Really enjoy this course. Great greens, fantastic fairways and tees that accommodate any type player. The front nine is both scenic and inviting. Very few blind shots and plenty of landing areas. Now the back nine. It plays like an angry stepchild. Tight fairways, lots and lots of blind shots and undulating fairways. Better score on the front because it can double on the back. Will return and go again. Great job to the maintenance crew also.
Spectacular course!
I love mountain courses, and I love lake courses, and this course is the best of both. Every hole is beautiful, the surroundings are beautiful, the fairways and greens are perfect. If you can play here, you really should. Just one of the most enjoyable rounds I’ve had in years.
Nice Course, Friendly Staff
This is a great course for the price. This a not a long course but require precision with your shots. It's a true Pete Dye course. The staff was beyond friendly and made the experience even better, especially the starter the day I played.
Oak Hollow best course I’ve played
Course was well taken care of and beautifully laid out.
Great weather, excellent conditions, friendly staff, superb value
Oak Hollow delivered another outstanding golfing experience.
Rick in the pro shop, Joe the ranger, John and Angie in the grill, are all helpful, friendly, and professional.
I started on the back nine, per Joe's instructions. Holes #3 and #4 are closed due to construction so it was a 16 hole round.
Conditions are good from tee to green. You can see that the maintenance crew is working hard to keep the course looking nice.
I went out by myself and played in 3 1/2 hours, a great pace.
Great value yesterday at $12 with cart, using a $10 online coupon.
For scenery, friendly staff, challenge, and as a bonus, beautiful weather, Oak Hollow is a top area public course.
I recommend Oak Hollow highly as a great place to play golf.
Greens are filling in very nice!
Course is in good condition and only going to get better. Staff was friendly! Ready to go back already.
