Oak Hollow Golf Course
About
Oak Hollow Golf Course is one of two municipally owned golf courses in High Point, N.C. This Pete Dye design is the newer and more popular of the two. The layout features several Dye signatures including pot bunkers and railroad ties but it's the small, undulating greens that are the most recognizable Dye trademark. The golf course has an interesting mix of holes, including several risk-reward opportunities. It's a course that will make you think, rewarding strategy and accuracy over might. The signature hole is the par-4 sixth. This 420-yard hole wraps around a lake with an island tee at the tips that will test the brave. Oak Hollow's toughest hole, though, is the 437-yard 11th, also a par 4. You'll need a perfectly placed tee shot and then after you're met with a triple-tiered green that sits along the water's edge.

Perfect Day Photo submitted by Zippy0058 on 10/17/2016
Tough course.
Course is in good shape! They're punching greens next week but they rolled fine today. Take advantage of the front because the back is still tough as nails, but still a must play in the Triad!
Underrated course
Great course for the money, a few beautiful holes along the water.
Oak Hollow
Course was in excellent condition. nice layout. Because there was money involved pace was a bit slower but tolerable.. Would play here again..
Good course. Pace was ridiculous.
This course probably deserves a higher rating & when I play it again I hope to give it one. Today was so slow and the staff did nothing. Actually they made it happen. No tee times on this day. The guy behind the counter told me it was first come first serve. This is a new method of starting to me and let me tell you, I do not recommend it. By hole 3 we were backed up 2 or 3 groups. Not only does it make play a little irritating, it is so hard on the course. Due to the amount of play she was seeing, the poor girl was beat up. Fairways marked with tire marks & divots. Soft greens abused by wedges in & their scars abondoned by its aggressor.
A real shame because I am sure this Dye layout is a lot of fun and because of that fact alone, I will be back next week to try it again.
First time, GREAT TIME!
First, I would like to thank Ricky, Martin and Robert for allowing me to join them on my first round ever played at Oak Hollow. Who needs a caddie when you have three locals showing you the way. Also, the staff and course were outstanding, not to mention the well behaved kids that were there learning the game. Great job to the City of High Point Parks and Recreation .
I will be back.
Thank you
Best Value
Oak Hollow is by far the best value of any course within a 30 mile radius of Clemmons which is available on GolfNow- The staff, course condition, views, all make it well worth the rating and trip. Excellent experience, and enjoyable afternoon.
All of the staff was great except one guy behind the counter who was way too aggressive about wearing a mask...could have asked nicely but was rude! We were the only two in the golf shop. Everyone else was great!
Greens
Greens are getting quite a bit of poana grass on them and need to be removed from them a little at a time will make a difference. 18 pin placement was right in the middle of a huge area of it and that was wrong very hard to putt!
Great course
Played Oak Hollow a few times, but this was the best the course has looked. Great round, could have finished pretty fast if not for the foursome ahead. For the weekday rate it’s hard to beat. Very challenging, never my best scores, but really cool design!
Great layout and slow greens
I hate so say this but these might be the worst greens in the triad. The are so soft and so slow I spent time fixing foot prints than reading putts. The need to learn from Jamestown and switch to Bermuda greesn. FIX YOUR GREENS !!!!
Oak hollow golf course
I thought that the course was in great shape! Although golfers need to fix their ball marks on the greens!
Oak Hollow
Nice course with great views of the Lake, shame we had to wait for two fourballs on every hole on the back 9. The course marshal needs to hurry groups or let those behind play through.
Well Worth It!
Course was awesome! Play was slow after a 2 hr. front 9, almost 3 for the back nine. People were in front of us that weren't there before; everywhere!
Maybe some double booking stuff? Regardless of the pace becoming laboriously slow on a 96 degree afternoon, the course was awesome. I played 10+ years ago and it's just as good as I remember.
