Oak Hollow Golf Course is one of two municipally owned golf courses in High Point, N.C. This Pete Dye design is the newer and more popular of the two. The layout features several Dye signatures including pot bunkers and railroad ties but it's the small, undulating greens that are the most recognizable Dye trademark. The golf course has an interesting mix of holes, including several risk-reward opportunities. It's a course that will make you think, rewarding strategy and accuracy over might. The signature hole is the par-4 sixth. This 420-yard hole wraps around a lake with an island tee at the tips that will test the brave. Oak Hollow's toughest hole, though, is the 437-yard 11th, also a par 4. You'll need a perfectly placed tee shot and then after you're met with a triple-tiered green that sits along the water's edge.

Great course

Played Oak Hollow a few times, but this was the best the course has looked. Great round, could have finished pretty fast if not for the foursome ahead. For the weekday rate it’s hard to beat. Very challenging, never my best scores, but really cool design!

Great layout and slow greens

I hate so say this but these might be the worst greens in the triad. The are so soft and so slow I spent time fixing foot prints than reading putts. The need to learn from Jamestown and switch to Bermuda greesn. FIX YOUR GREENS !!!!

Nice course

Only draw back is the greens were definitely a bit slow, otherwise the course is in good shape, a must play in the area.

Oak Hollow

Nice course with great views of the Lake, shame we had to wait for two fourballs on every hole on the back 9. The course marshal needs to hurry groups or let those behind play through.

Well Worth It!

Course was awesome! Play was slow after a 2 hr. front 9, almost 3 for the back nine. People were in front of us that weren't there before; everywhere!

Maybe some double booking stuff? Regardless of the pace becoming laboriously slow on a 96 degree afternoon, the course was awesome. I played 10+ years ago and it's just as good as I remember.

Good condition, friendly staff, scenic, great value

Oak Hollow was in good condition yesterday.

Great value on Golf Now.

Always scenic and challenging.

Friendly staff.

Joined up with 2 nice playing partners.

Oak Hollow has gone the extra mile to ensure safety and health for golfers and staff during the Corona Virus outbreak.

I highly recommend Oak Hollow to everyone.

I LOVE THIS COURSE, but ...

Course from t to green in great shape, however they seem to be behind on their mowing. Rough is too high and the grass in the areas under the trees also too high. Slows the pace of play down considerably looking for errant shots, I’ve played it twice in the last month, and the grass was high both times. The greens are great but they were playing too slow, but that’s always the case here. This made my experience here less enjoyable for sure, seems like a simple fix????

MUST Play Course!

My first time playing here, Oak Hollow is easily in my top 2 favorite courses and I have already booked my next tee time. This is a great find, and for me, worth driving an hour to get to the course.

1. Course layout challenging from the white tees, so I suspect very challenging from the back tees. The holes are fun and have a wonderfully varied terrain from hole to hole, strategically placed bunkers and hazards, yet the fairways are moderately wide so can be forgiving.

2. Tee boxes, fairways, bunkers, and greens all very well kept. They did punch the greens what looked to be 2 or 3 weeks ago but they are in great shape. You can tell this course cares about its product.

3. The beauty of the course is spot on as you come on and off the lake, and with the leaves back on the trees even the couple times the holes run somewhat parallel it did not seem to be that way. I love the holes that run along the lake.

Mismanagement is the Issue

We have played this course many times over the years strictly for the sake of convenience. We are local and have a group that tries to get out about 2 times a week in warmer months and as often as possible in colder months. At this point, we will forego golf before playing at Oak Hollow and recommend to any of our groups and friends to do the same. 5 hour rounds are the rule and overbooking is common. No need to get into the details of this most recent round, but suffice to say we were shocked by the lack of courtesy and honesty. Until management changes, I cannot see anything changing. My suggestion.... I would consider Blair Park, go to the range, or visit Putt Putt where you are respected as a customer.

muddy conditions, bumpy greens, friendly staff, slow play, Golf Now overbooked course

Always do the good news first.

Staff is always friendly.

Great value, with my $10 Golf Now certificate bringing 18 hole green fee to $12.

I arrived at 12:00 p.m. for my 12:08 p.m. tee time and was told by pro shop staff that the course was overbooked with Golf Now tee times.

Warmed up on putting green. Asked ranger if I could tee off since a foursome was down the fairway approaching the green. He said no. I had to wait for a group. **NOTE: no one else showed from the 12:08 p.m. Golf Now tee time.

Finally, three golfers showed up from a later tee time. We teed off at approximately 12:30 p.m., one half hour past my original time! I have played at Oak Hollow for over 20 years and never had this occur!

The golfers I was with were seldom in the fairway during the round. I was usually in the fairway and played ready golf. They were slower players.

Then, when we finished the 17th green and started to head to the 18th tee, the ranger told us NOT to play the 18th hole. It was 5:00 p.m. and close to darkness.

That didn't go over well with me. I mentioned this when returning the cart.

I realize that the Oak Hollow staff was doing their best with a booked course. Golf Now needs to know that somehow their system overbooked the tee times.

I am a loyal Golf Now customer and will continue to be.

Course conditions were fair, with slow and bumpy greens.

Scenery on Oak Hollow is outstanding, especially holes 4-6!

Thank you.
