Oak Hollow Golf Course
About
Oak Hollow Golf Course is one of two municipally owned golf courses in High Point, N.C. This Pete Dye design is the newer and more popular of the two. The layout features several Dye signatures including pot bunkers and railroad ties but it's the small, undulating greens that are the most recognizable Dye trademark. The golf course has an interesting mix of holes, including several risk-reward opportunities. It's a course that will make you think, rewarding strategy and accuracy over might. The signature hole is the par-4 sixth. This 420-yard hole wraps around a lake with an island tee at the tips that will test the brave. Oak Hollow's toughest hole, though, is the 437-yard 11th, also a par 4. You'll need a perfectly placed tee shot and then after you're met with a triple-tiered green that sits along the water's edge.

Did he really say that?
Let me preference with I shot a 39 (left after 9 holes, just too slow) - the round or my game was not the issue. Course itself is okay. Not terrible and not great. A few of the holes along the water are just childish but come to expect that from Pete Dye. It’s like using the land would be insane, so let’s make 90 degree dog legs that simply seem out of place with rest of the course. Just odd. But I can live with that. What was just odder than normal for the place that put the O in Odd (High Point NC) was the confusion that seemingly hit the two staff members that tried to check us in. I used GolfNow to book the tee time. When we got there he didn’t have me and couldn’t find me on the tee sheet, so I had to pull up the receipt and show him. You would of thought they were trying to solve quantum physics. Right or wrong they made use feel like it was our fault for booking with GolfNow. I walked outside and my golf mate asked me was it GolfNow I said, “Nope just High Point.” To which the mustached hombre in the orange shirt says, “I wouldn’t come back”. I didn’t acknowledge but took note. I wonder, does anyone care that the we paid to play? I didn’t make the rules with GolfNow, Oak Hollow did. If you don’t want us there, don’t worry we won’t come back. And folks, there are at least 10 other courses in GSO area, with better layout, friendly staff, and better pace of play. Not worth the hassle of dealing with staff that don’t want you there.
Nice city course
Oak Hollow is a nice city owned course. It is always in good shape and can be very challenging. I definitely recommend.
Good course
Some of the tee boxes were rough, but a nice course other wise
great front nine
Front nine was very good, only wet from rain..greens
were good...But back nine needs work,,,fairways hard
grass needs to be attended,,bunkers water in them on
different holes...greens had strange different kinds of
grass...
Nice course in NC
Very well maintained and nice course in North Carolina. Pace of play was good for all levels. Some elevation on holes which made for some nice challenges.
Consistent
Greens were soft but rolled smooth at a decent pace. Fairways in good shape. Couple fivesomes slowed things down and ranger wouldn’t even talk to them.
Why 4?!
One of my favorite courses in the area. Only complaint has to do with the forced 4somes. Played with my dad from out of town, and we got paired up on a fairly slow day. The other 2 were good guys, but it didn’t seem necessary. Staff Ian hit or miss, usually great guys, but some sticklers. Beautiful course, challenging but fair.
Great Outing
First time I played this course, pick up the course help pamphlet at the clubhouse before you start, it will really help.
Enjoyed the humor at the clubhouse right from the start. Course was in great condition, only negative about the round were the sand traps needed some love, otherwise fantastic views, challenging layout. Play the course.....you’ll like it
Nice Day on the Greens
What a nice course, played with new friends. It defiantly challenges your game, but fun. The only negative was it our fellow golfers would learn to FIX their divots. Definitely will be back!⛳️
