Oak Hollow Golf Course is one of two municipally owned golf courses in High Point, N.C. This Pete Dye design is the newer and more popular of the two. The layout features several Dye signatures including pot bunkers and railroad ties but it's the small, undulating greens that are the most recognizable Dye trademark. The golf course has an interesting mix of holes, including several risk-reward opportunities. It's a course that will make you think, rewarding strategy and accuracy over might. The signature hole is the par-4 sixth. This 420-yard hole wraps around a lake with an island tee at the tips that will test the brave. Oak Hollow's toughest hole, though, is the 437-yard 11th, also a par 4. You'll need a perfectly placed tee shot and then after you're met with a triple-tiered green that sits along the water's edge.

Great Value, Tough First Time Experience

The course is a very good value. It’s a Pete Dye course, pretty good shape and we played (foursome) in 4 hours flat. Our party was diverse—from 6–20 handicap. The only caveat is that this is one of those courses that will vex you if you play for the first time with nobody with course experience to coach you on shot selection and placement of shots to the greens. You can hit a great ball on approach 5 feet from the pin if it’s on the wrong side and roll 20 yards off the green! Really. The course from the tips is only about 6600 yards, but the trick is figuring out where to play on very hilly fairways and greens. Our green fees were really reasonable considering the quality of the course. Staff in the club house was very helpful. Recommend. Only negative was that yardage books were not available. They would have helped. I look forward to playing again with more knowledge.

Good Experience

We had a great day of golf. The only negative is I was playing with my son who was home from college. We were looking forward to some time together. We will paired unknowingly with another twosome who also booked with Golf Now. The upside is we had a great time with the guys we played with, as they were a pleasure to play with. It would have been good to know ahead of time if we were going to be grouped with someone else.

Greens were aerated on 9/25. Other than that the course is in great shape. It will be perfect once those recover.

punched greens

Upon arrival at course was notified that the greens had been punched/sanded. This was not reflected on your website. A disappointment.

A Dye Delight

Oak Hollow offers a challenging but fair round in a beautiful setting. The course, especially the greens, is in excellent condition. Although I booked the round at an $32 rate, the gentleman in the shop gave me the senior rate of $28. An absolute bargain. My wife thoroughly enjoyed the round as well.

Great weather, enjoyable round, terrible greens

Played Oak Hollow on a great GolfNow value at $20 per player with two friends. Perfect day in the 70's (temperature, not score) for August!

Always a great layout, very scenic. Pace of play was great, playing in under 4 hours. Greens are in the worst condition in the 20 years that I have played at Oak Hollow. Very marked up for some reason. They may need to shut down next summer and rework tee to green conditions, like other courses in the area. Grass is very spotty on tees.

Staff is always friendly. Only Pete Dye municipal course in the state and great value always. Very scenic.

I would recommend this course to everyone.

Decent

Course layout is interesting, lots of hilly, side hill lies. Greens are beat up with a--holes who don't repair ball marks. Great views over the lake with several holes where the water is in play. Enjoyed the course for a $12.00 green fee with cart.

Pete dye for a great rate.

What views. Great value. Great conditions. I have visited this course several times in the last 25 years. Minus one hole under construction it was in wonderful shape. Greens were true even though they are overplayed. The fairways are like carpet. Hit it in the right spots score ,if you don't prepare to struggle. Will return soon. What a great place to spend 4hours.

BeautIcily course on the lake!

Please fill in bare spots! Would have been better to trim up shade trees in parking lot no shade now! Awful no respect for trees! If you put the money you spent on the parking lot ion the course - you'd have the prettiest best Pete Dye course in the State of NC!

Great course!

Course is in great shape, with the exception of #12, which is under construction. Pace was whatever you wanted. No waiting at all. 18 holes done in under 4 hrs. Greens a little wooly. Could be shorter. All in all, great day of goof!

Southern Charmer

Great track , well designed course.

Lakefront holes were breezy and very fun to play.

Practice facilities are just average, but long enough driving range and adequate putting green.

Bent grass greens run slower naturally, I call them bumpy grass greens.

Lots of fun, fast golf carts and a good mix of landscape and bunkers.

Challenging from the blue tees .
