Monroe Nine Hole
It has been several years since I last played golf and Monroe course was a great place to start back. Only played the front nine and had a good time. Cart path only due to some wet conditions. The fairways could use some work but the greens were good but fast. I plan on coming back.
Good Greens nothing else
Straight to the point:
Got to course:
Told back 9 closed
Starter was rude and ignorant
The course never notified Golf now that back mine was covered as they are supposed too
Won’t be back ever
Great Course
Spring has sprung and Monroe CC, as always was a great time. The greens are great and the fairways are coming in nicely.
Gets better and better
Tbh, was disappointed with first few holes. Feels very municipal. But the ladder holes on the front 9 and back 9 turns into a beautiful course. Not sure I’d rate this course top tier but solid.
Good day of golf
I played as a single in the morning. Was a little early and they let me go right out. Course is starting to green up. Still a little bare in some spots. But overall the good conditions up to the green. The real treat were the greens. In excellent shape. Were on the slower side but there was not a blemish is any of them.
Will be back!!!!
Jewel outside of Charlotte
This course is a must play. Donald Ross greens front 9...so you will have to be accurate on approach shots. Greens bigger on back nine. Greens roll true and great layout. Overall I give this course 4.5 stars.
Good track
First time playing the course, the famous greens did not disappoint, it was like putting on marble. Fairways and greens in ok condition, very challenging course. I usually shoot in the 80’s that day I shot in the 90’s and literally only hit one green in regulation. If you can chip and putt you can score well, I can and I still struggled. The beer was 2-3 bucks so that was a nice surprise.
One of the Best Values Around
Always a pleasure to play here. Greens were lightning fast!
Not kidding about the best greens around
Played on a late Friday morning and was running a few minutes late because of traffic out of the Charlotte area. The clubhouse attendant and starter were very accommodating to get me out ahead of a foursome and to get me with the person I was supposed to be paired up with. The person I was paired up with was a different story (took multiple phone calls and slowed me down throughout the back nine), but the course was in very good shape for early March.
Tee boxes and fairways were somewhat dead, but that's expected. However, the greens were immaculate and rolled like the middle of summer. Typical Donald Ross course with postage stamp greens with all kinds of weird slopes and shapes. Basically have to play everything to the middle of the green and hope you don't leave it short or long. Challenging course, but having it in the shape it was in makes it worth it.
Great greens
Fairways and roughs were in winter condition. Sand traps were hard packed due to recent rains. Several areas of the fairways were water logged. Greens held the approach shot well, rolled true, were medium fast speed.
