Nice Day and Round
I usually play Monroe two to three times a year, because of the drive. It never disappoints. The fairways are always nice and greens are smooth and fast. I like the mix of holes and target golf needed to hit the smaller greens. I may have to make more trips. Its a great value for the money. There's not a lot of off course amenities, but I'm only concerned with playing golf and the on-course experience.
Great Value, Hospitable Staff, well maintained
Course was beautiful. Money gets spent on maintenance. I had a blast. This course is a real value. I only wish my State would promote courses like this instead of closing them wholesale; but that's mismanaged California I guess. Hat's off to NC and Monroe Country Club!
Great Value
The course was in great shape, fairways and greens. The pace of play was very good despite the number of players out there. Good times!
Nice course, challenging.
Hilly, open course with fast greens. Not a lot of water, but a decent amount of sand traps that are deep.
Don’t bring kids, staff is rude
Course is great, course rangers are rude and unprofessional. I along with three other witnessed a course ranger today act completely unprofessional to a father and a young child.
The child plays on tournaments and was not playing slow. The tee box ranger grouped together to many people, and three holes later another course ranger told the (6 person group) to hurry up or get off the course. Then proceeded to blame this child on front of everyone for the slow play.
I bring my child to play here and was completely blown away by the treatment of this family. For a golf course that should be encouraging kids. This is absolutely uncalled for.
Kudos for the dad for not losing his temper and uplifting his child.
The course ranger should have not grouped a walker, and three other carts together. The other course ranger should have been polite and asked the group to split up. It’s unfortunate, but blaming a kid for slow play in front of the father was uncalled for. This course is not kid friendly.
On a good note the child played very well and kept up.
If you have kids that play even on a tournament level don’t bring them

Great condition
If you want a challenge with fast greens and solid cut grass, this is the place. Great course condition at the moment and staff was friendly and consistent. Would recommend to anyone
Great greens
The course was in fair shape but the green are fast and true I enjoyed the greens.
