Hidden Gem
Monroe’s municipal course - Monroe CC
Is a little gem and in great condition. Yes the 2020 rainy Spring has helped but the staff is working hard to keep it in great shape. The greens are a little smaller than most courses which adds difficulty to approach Shots but the greens putt very true If you can hold the green.
Good golf course!
Monroe Country Club is usually a good course and a fun time! The pace of play is sometimes slow and they do on occasion allow certain groups to play in five players; which should not be allowed.
Outstanding conditions
I arrived expecting the course to be in fairly good shape. What shocked me was just how good it was and the obvious care taken by the staff. The entire course, from tips to greens, was immaculate and well maintained. Tee boxes were well-seeded, bunkers were well groomed, and the greens were cut with precision. Fast, but beautifully maintained. I am almost reticent to write this review because I don’t want to draw more golfers to this gem!
Your customer
I don’t appreciate being told by other golfers I should not have been on #3 I understand stand that carts weren’t supposed to be on that fairway butt there was a golfer on that same fairway standing by his cart. He hit his ball from #4 onto #3 fairway. He watched as the man yelled at me to get my cart off the fairway. I believe he said something to me because I’m a black man. My uncle works there and has for years. I feel you may need to educate some of your course members.
Golf pro
The golf pro was very rude. He had a clinic on the course and we were told we could go through. When we attempted to go through, he came over and started yelling at us, the customers. We were unable to finish our round. We simply explained had we should have been informed of the clinic on the course. We could have started on the back. The course was not crowded, playing through or playing on the back would not have held up the course. The other staff and starter were very professional and extremely helpful.
Good course!
Great place for a good round. I was in the area on business. Monroe is a great place to get a round in.
My favorite local course
Even though the recent weather has been crazy wet and rainy the course was in excellent condition. Monroe Country Club is an excellent value. Fees are less than many of the local courses, yet it is well maintained, expertly managed and the staff is always professional.
Great course to play for average golfer.
Fairways ok. Greens very good - good condition and well maintained - not too fast. Considering not fully staffed due to Coronavirus, very good accommodations. Fun course to play.
Love this course, great layout (very challenging), very accommodating staff and the greens were just about perfect! Backside a little easier than the front (different designers). Usually sign up as a one some and get paired with nice guys every time!
Review
The course was very dry, yet they had cart pass only in effect.
Booked on line which made it about 40% more then if I
had called. Manager said to bad, call next time.
All in all they are busy there, so it seems they do not feel the need to have good business practices as it pertains to customer relations.
Best Day @ Monroe
Why was this the best day at Monroe?
Because they let me play the back 9 twice!!
hehehehehe
Love Hate Golf Course
Love the back nine as much as I hate the front nine
I am a 22 handicap and this was my first time playing the course. I thought the course was in great condition, and the greens were extremely fast and in great condition. The course provided a challenging yet fun round. I will definitely be back for some more golf!
I Appreciate The Entire Monroe Staff
Thank you Monroe for providing me with my golf exercise during this virus crisis.
I hope you all stay healthy and safe.
NOTE - Do not send out a single behind a fivesome!
Front 9 Only
I was very upset not being able to play the back 9
The back 9 at Monroe is my favorite nine in NC
The front 9 is my least favorite in all of NC
Instead of playing the front 9 twice, I left without being given a partial refund which I requested
